Miapolis will be a metropolis in the sky, self-sufficient, environmental friendly and with a remarkable economic impact leaving no one behind.
Miapolis is about innovation and creativity: the impressive Pan-American plaza with dancing fountains offering free daily shows; an indoor theme park for the family; a trade center for the Gateway of the Americas; an exciting amphitheater, and the stunning public promenade 30 ft high overlooking Biscayne Bay.
Miapolis will be an economic engine, and a sensible and rational solution for the local economy; resolving the Parrot Jungle debts, producing $1.0 billion annually in tax revenues; the Mega Plan estimated TIF for the CRAs by 2030 will be doubled; and, no taxpayer money, loans, or costs over-runs. More important, Miapolis creates 42,000 construction and 28,000 permanent JOBS.
Miapolis will provide constant worldwide exposure of Miami, increasing tourism, international trade, passengers for the airlines, cargo for the Port of Miami and MIA, and benefiting all Downtown by attracting millions of visitors.

We got to put this back in the cards so citizens of Miami can choose between a hotel for Jungle Island, or build this marvel of all mixed used developments. Miapolis. Try sharing this with politicians in Miami and convince the FAA to raise the height limitations to build this thing would be good. This thing would be so cool.

You may not be from Miami phoenix 10. But I can tell you that my city is undergoing a major transformation right now and it is becoming a “City for millennials. “Mixed use development are popping up everywhere now. Some of which include Miami world center, two new cities within a city in North Miami, a large mixed use development in Coral Gables, and the megamall which is coming soon. We now have Brickell city center as well which has been built already. If Miapolis would have been built, BOY!!!! What a city Miami would become. Miami would’ve became a city straight out of a movie. The project itself is more like something out of a movie.

If I started a 3D printing construction business, I would build this thing for 10 times amount it would’ve cost to build with traditional construction methods. And instead of taking almost 7 to8 years to build it, I would have it built in just under six months to a year.

If this was built, it would attract alot of people and could be successful in a way for most people down south. Drugs or business, hotel or condos, performences and a theme park, earth friendly and like a city, it could bring in the money if done right unlike most projects nowadays. I'm just wondering how they are going to make a no flight zone because the MIA Airport isn't that far away, and if your coming in from other countries you would usually pass by near watson island and around the area

The first time I saw this video which was in 2011 and I was 14. I was looking at a video on the 10 billion Dollar Mile for a Miami florida in 2020 until I saw this. After looking closely it said it would be built in Miami. Last time there was an article on Wikipedia saying that it would be built in 2017 during that time I checked. When I found out I was super excited. Here we are in 2019 and they are doing renovations to jungle Island. I would love it if the person behind it would give this project another try. Maybe have it opened between 2024 and 2027.
@ShawnMKouri
@ShawnMKouri 5 жыл бұрын
I wish this came to Miami. If it broke ground in 2011, it would have been completed by 2016 or 2017 or even 2018 and would have been open by now. I would have stayed in the hotel there. I would’ve also gone shopping and try unique foods. I would’ve also went up to the top floor observation deck. I would’ve also been able to check for new condos and houses for sale here at this cool project. It would’ve been super beneficial for the economy of Miami. However it would’ve caused so so so so so so so so so so so so much traffic. But I would’ve also seen it when going to Miami Beach on I 395 which is the MacArthur Causeway Bay. I would’ve passed by it when boating on my dad‘s boat. This is the sight of Jungle Island. However this didn’t happen because we were still recovering from the recession and construction would also cause traffic congestion problems. Also The FAA has a height limit for a tall buildings across the United States and approving buildings of 3000 feet of that height has caused massive controversy. Now there is plans to build A resort hotel for jungle Island. That has been approved by voters in 2018. Now what’s next for that? I really don’t know. But it would have been cool if this would have been built. If it were built I would come to Miapolis all the time. There’s got to be a way to put this back into the cards of choice if voters were to choose between a hotel for jungle Island and this. This would be big for Miami Dade County Public Schools financially, educationally, eventfully and community based instructional and field trip wise. As far as housing goes, they should have housing for not just the rich but for everyone. People with low income should be able to overcome obstacles with living here by adding affordable low income housing, add mass market housing for anybody on a budget with budget friendly two bedroom to five bedroom homes for sale and for rent and can be Lennar style, luxury housing of greater than $500,000 and multi million dollar homes that can go as high as $75 million for sale. Sure swimming pools would be a big thing so this project should have a massive swimming Pool complex. The question is how would this withstand a category five hurricane?

If you can’t go 3000 feet, just go up to 2400 or 2500 feet with 160 stories. Not that much of a difference. I think 2500 feet is the maximum height limit by the FAA. In some cities it’s 1000 feet..

With a building like this it will take many years to complete. The major hurricane danger will during the construction phase. Once it is done it should be about as "hurricane proof" as a building can get but a major storm during the construction phase would cause real problems.

3D printers could soon build a 100 story Tower in weeks for a third of the cost. A 3D printer would easily print this and all the features in six months at a classically cheap 2B US dollars to 5B US dollars and would withstand next generation hurricanes.

Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia is supposed to be completed in 2021 at 3,300 Feet at 170-Stories. Dubai will also get Burj Mubarak Kabir At 235-Stories At 3300 Feet. So, maybe we can try again with Miapolis. Tell the FAA to make an exception for just one building in Miami. Miapolis would really make my childhood and forever city of Miami a place that everyone wants to come to. Some jobs would out weigh the already fast rising cost of living in Miami.Jobs that pay 100,000 a year to 200,000 a year or 300,000 to 600,000 a year? Miapolis would’ve had that. Min. Wage jobs no less than 15-20 an hour or 30-50 an hour? Miapolis would’ve had that. These jobs and Miapolis overall would make a redesign and next generation of Miami’s popular live, work, and play experience package in developments popping up around Miami-Dade County within the next five years. If Miapolis broke ground in 2011, it would’ve been completed in 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018 if such a thing wasn’t held back by county transportation traffic restrictions and FAA height regulations. The developer behind this once planned project, Miapolis, was Guillermo Socarras. This video has been my favorite video ever since I started watching it in 2011. Back then I didn’t have a KZbin channel. This would have been one of my favorite destinations in Miami..... 😀😀😀

If it were built, could this take care of all the people in the disadvantaged areas of Miami? Maybe. Could this mean that more houses in suburban areas would have to be built for families if this were built? Probably yes. More schools would have to be billed to you.

Let’s get the man behind this project, Guallerno Socarras to come back and give it another try and convince the FAA and Miami Dade county to approve this thing. The FAA can make exceptions for just this one project. If that were to happen, I would say let’s have this completed between 2024 and 2026. There are times where I go out on my dad‘s boat on Biscayne Bay on a Sunday afternoon. Instead of worrying about taking the car to Miapolis, we can essentially go out on the boat and then pull up on our boat. If we were to drive there, why not just take an Uber or Lyft and/or the proposed Baylink monorail system by BYD and Genting that would connect from Miami to Miami Beach. A station can be built at this project. To build the street ways going into this Miapolis project would have to have a section of the MacArthur Causeway reconstructed to make the street Waze with that on-ramp and offramp with the underground driving tunnel for the project. This would make sense anyway because the county is building the signature bridge on the MacArthur Causeway anyway. Makes sense does it? Miami Dade County public schools would generate lots and lots of money from this thing. It would add to the $1.2 billion general obligation bonds that was approved by voters in 2012 to renovate schools and would keep the district financially stable. I would build it. As a matter of fact with where 3-D printing is going some 10 to 20 years into the future, I wouldn’t build it. I would print it at a substantially cheaper price and instead of taking six years to eight years to build it, I can have it completed in just under one year to two years.

Imagine this! What about prefabricated construction with heavy-weight modules and a little bit of cross-laminated timer CLT? If I had a construction company that can build this thing out of this construction method. It wouldn’t take 6 to 8 years to build Miapolis using environmentally friendly materials but use Traditional construction methods to build. Instead, with pre-fabrication with modular construction with heavyweight modules and cross laminated timber, I can get it done in almost half the time or more. It can be done in two years, three years, or even four years at 15.4B to 17.6B instead of 22 billion dollars. If I had a business specializing in this type of construction method right now, I can break ground in 2021 with full completion in 2023, 2024, or 2025 if allowed, just in time for the completion of the iconic Miami signature bridge of the McArthur Causeway and I can bring the iconic arches that will be going up all the way to Miami Beach if I wanted to. Since Miami is working on a metro mover or metro rail bay link expansion to Miami Beach, Miapolis would be one of the stops. In addition, do you remember the flagstone Island Gardens project on Watson Island, I can build that using modular construction and get that done in almost half the time and 20% less in construction costs and I can make it environmentally friendly with solar power and a combination of cross laminated timber. That would go up just across the street so in terms of hotel rooms, Miapolis would have been set and good to go. Just imagine that!

It would have to withstand when speeds between 500 mph to about 900 mph. I want to add that if it’s going to be a lead certified platinum green project, why not add Electric car charging stations in the parking Garages since electric cars are becoming a thing like Tesla and then very soon BYTON and Rivian. I wonder, how r we going to get in and out Miami Beach and where is the parking for such behemoth?
@ShawnMKouri
@ShawnMKouri 3 жыл бұрын
Agreed. If it were built, they would have to dig underground and put some thing underground to keep the water from eroding in and they would have to dig an additional three stories up to maybe five stories below ground to accommodate more parking for this thing. Now get this, Genting has plans to build a train connection that would connect from downtown Miami to South Beach Miami Beach. If this were built, there would have to be Baylink stop at Miapolis. It is easy to say that if they build a train connection from downtown Miami to Miami Beach, this would definitely be one of the stops. That would probably help a little bit with traffic but either way it would be an issue. Flagstone Island Gardens was supposed to go up nearby jungle Island which would include a 35 story and a 50 story hotel with a shopping complex. So, if Miapolis was built on top of that in combination, the Island Gardens project would have to have a big parking garage that would go from three stories below ground toseven stories above ground curving around parts of the island and around the kids museum to accommodate over 10,000 additional cars maybe even up to 15,000 additional cars.

It would be nice to see it, and certainly Miapolis is a lot more reasonable in Miami than the Burj Khalifa was in Dubai; one is a city with REAL economic power, the other is a hole in the desert with no real regulations where greedy Western businessmen could invest in insane schemes during the height of a real estate bubble that has long since burst. Still, at present time, Miapolis seems highly unlikely to be built. A real shame.

In addition to that, there would also have to be a Baylink stop more buses added to the Miami Dade County metro bus fleet, more private shuttles, more special transportation STS vans, and possibly even and expansion of the airport to accommodate all those people. And for sure Miami Dade county would definitely have to expand the metro rail to as far north as Aventura two as far south as Homestead if they are going to do that. That is if it were built. Maybe add some more water taxis?

How about townhomes from 2 to 5 bedrooms and up to 5,500 square feet with from near Standard Quality, to Mid-Range Quality Finishes. And Luxury condos from a million to 150M for sale? Why not have apartments from Affordable Housing from low-income to standard and luxury rentals? How about a big fitness center? Miapolis would’ve had that.

Do you want to know how much money Miapolis would have generated from Miami Dade County Public schools which is my home school district in Miami? 200,000,000 to 600,000,000 in revenue dollars.

@chicagoguy19 ok, sure, the part of the government that should be paying isn't paying exactly, but I'm sure paying off our debts would be a better use for this money. War or miapolis

They should build it to 3000 feet. Take up an entire island and away from downtown crowded development. This will easily stand strong against winds of 600 mph tornado strengths. This will light up miami to where it belongs.

Pretty good point. It would be right in the middle. It can be accessible from downtown Miami and South Beach Miami Florida by the MacArthur Causeway and PortMiami by PortMiami Tunnel. You can easily see it from your own boat when you are coming from north of Biscayne Bay. When you get closer to 41st St. bridge you will be able to see it, especially at night. You can easily pull up on your own boat. When you are bike riding on the bay front of South Beach on the marina boardwalk which connects to the Government Cut Walk. If you have a condo on Miami Beach facing the bay you can easily see it.

I should, no will be able to see this thing from my bedroom window most likely. This would be four times as tall as the highest building in Downtown right now.

Probably not. But they should give it another go in proposing the plan. You know how much money it would generate in tax revenues for Miami Dade County Public schools? Which is now one of the best urban school districts in the nation, 100M to 500M

@Sabored Because we owe ~1,000x that amount. I'd rather have this building than pay off 0.001% of our debt.
