If there is anyone who has the knowledge to run this country is people with such experience. I imagine wanjigi as a president holding his story time chronicles for the country on his free time.

1:47:50 | Per this audit: Spending (excluding debt repayment): Ksh 14.6T Tax Revenue: Ksh 13.3T Borrowing: Ksh 7.7T Debt Servicing: Ksh 7T Therefore, total revenue: Ksh 21T (tax revenue + borrowing). Total Expenditure: Ksh 21.6T (Spending + Debt Servicing). Deficit with Borrowing (21.6-21) comes Ksh 600B in 10 years (~60B/year shortfall). Deficit without Borrowing: Ksh 1.3T, highlighting a significant fiscal gap. Even without borrowing, we're in deficit of 1.3 trillion. How do we plug that without measures like VAT-the 2nd biggest tax head-how do we address a 1.3T deficit? Addressing the 100,000+ teacher shortfall will further increase expenses (e.g., onboarding costs and payroll).-what's TSC allocation again, 360B? But it's easy to be politically correct. Bwana

We can plug that 60b hole is to cut exorbitant allowances of Senate, MP,&Governors and 'discretional spending' by those people....
@Ochicho_Nyase
@Ochicho_Nyase 21 күн бұрын
@@wheelermckinnon3682 What's parliament's (Senate & National Assembly) budget? It's not even 1% of budget. I mean, an MP earns about a mil, including allowance-same as governors. Even if we were to say let's not pay all of the 416 MPs, that's only 416 million-not even 1 billion. I think we need to be realistic about our reality. The 1st question-what's our biggest budget item spend? Then work from there based on own source revenue capacity. Otherwise, we'll fall prey to the easy unhinged populist narratives

"The economic revolution will be just as painful as the political revolution we went through" From that history class, its clear, the same crop of leaders have been holding up captive. Kenya has the potential to be the greatest economy in Africa, but our leaders will not fight the corruption that ails us, because doing that would implicate them. Politicians threaten us against defaulting on these loans, citing potential sanctions/instability. But in reality, defaulting would prompt critical questions about where the money went, potentially exposing systemic corruption in government. This deliberate deflection ensures that politicians evade accountability, while ordinary Kenyans bear the burden of debt repayment for funds they never benefited from. We are facing a monumental battle, and it’s one we cannot afford to lose.
