One day I saw vision: a snake was crawling on my hand. It was a Sunday. Ok, so that happened about 3-4 months ago. On the 21 st of November, a day after BTS’s album was released I made a decision to quit k-pop. Then that same day I saw the snake fall off!!!! How did I discover k-pop: My sister started listening to k-pop about a year ago, and I followed this year. I didn’t understand that I was actually worshiping Kpop idols. I didn’t understand how dangerous everything was. It affected my behavior, I started being too concerned about my face and etc. Thank God I wasn’t listening to BTS hard for a long time, just almost the whole of November. So, long story short - my sleep improved, I felt happy and joyful, I started researching on Christian song and now have a dream to become a Christian pop singer one day (I’m 12 years old) + spread the good news and break the stereotype that Christian music is 😐 Grateful to God for opening my eyes on time. That was me from Moscow, Russia 🇷🇺 And happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Praise God! I was in a similar situation and found out in the middle of this year about how there are many disrespectful themes shown through a lot of kpop, and it scared me; still does. This turned me around quite a bit, but I'm still finding my out of it. But to be honest, this kind of stuff doesn't just happen in the kpop music industry, but also in many other industries; including the mainstream Christian music industry (more specifically the contemporary Christian music industry). Of course, many of these Christian artists may be manipulated by the higher ups, but it's hard to trust the entertainment industry as a whole now. This is my view and personal opinion, and I've done a lot of research on it myself. Anyhow, I hope that you are guided by the Holy Spirit and are led to a life of faith and devotion and are able to open the eyes of many by pursuing this dream. I also hope you pursue it with full faith in Christ Jesus! And I additionally hope that everyone all over the world (including myself) realise that their is always some way for us to be misled, so we must hold onto our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!! God bless you, and may the Lord lead you to show the beauty of Christ, and darkness of sin! ✝✝✝

In all honesty, the people themselves aren't terrible, but they are directly supporting and promoting a lot of the things that happen in the industry. Obviously we cannot directly blame them because we do not know their beliefs or whether they know what they are supporting or not, so we need to be cautious. Eventually, without knowing it, our faith in God becomes replaced by faith in man and putting certain people or a certain person before our Lord. This is really dangerous because we will become more invested and addicted to spending time watching the videos of the people online or paying money to support them, when we should and could be spending more time with God and helping those in need with what we have (in other words: charity). I'm not saying this to offend you, but I was once in the position you are in right now. I did a lot of research on the kpop industry and realized that many of the stars (as I call them) seem to 1. blindly trust whatever is given to them and gladly accept it or 2. do not want to do what they are told to because they know about it but cannot express their feelings of supporting evil for the sake of their career. It really sad to see it happening, and I constantly pray for their eyes to open, that they may turn to God and that they receive the freedom to express their feelings. Of course, this is difficult and may not happen at all, but I trust and believe in my Lord. If you are trying to get out of any addiction (including this) and are struggling, continue to pray devotedly to God; He WILL help you. And also try researching yourself if you are interested; you'll be surprised by the sheer amount of small details that really will give you a huge insight into it all. I especially recommend the channel 'Servants of Christ' and I found a video on the channel about kpop and it really surprised me and really made me realise how bad it is. I'd like to remind you that I'm not trying to blame or blaming the kpop stars; I really feel extremely sorry for them that so many of them are trusting and following many scripts/songs/MVs that mislead many others too. I especially feel annoyed that many Christian kpop stars are also forced into this reality so that they can follow their dreams (as well as those that are not confirmed Christian, but may be). I've seen a lot of TV shows say things about how they are the good of this and that and it really hurts to see it. Sometimes I feel like they don't want to follow what is said, but they have to and it looks like they are sad but I can't tell' I'm just a bystander. It also makes me feel even worse when their fans also put them in the position of God, because they are not perfection and cannot reach that state unless with God. Romans 3:23 says this, "since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." All of mankind are imperfect because of the first sin, but we receive redemption and come to a state of grace because Jesus sacrificed Himself on the Cross for our sake, and the sake of the whole world. In order for us to be perfect, we must be one with Christ and follow His ways; not letting anything come before our God and doing what He commands us. I will pray for you, and please continue to pray for yourself. God bless you, and have a blessed day!
