When I heard this song for the first time, I asked my wife if it was from Amy Winehouse or Adele, or perhaps Izo Fitzroy. It is so funny to see, that these three singers came to others' mind! Masterpiece, and I hope, we will have the luck to listen to Mica at Jazzy Fastival in Budapest or in Paloznak Jazz Jazzpicnic in 2025.

Saw Mica last night at Oran Mor in Glasgow. Some singers need help to sing live - Mica could stand there on her Tod and just sing anything - her voice is every bit as good live as any recording. My good lady was dragged along to the gig with me, having never heard any of Mica’s stuff and left as a big fan and saying she’s got a fantastic voice. In the last year I’ve seen Paolo Nutini (what a voice!), Florence and the Machine (what a voice!), Agnes Obel (amazing performance) and Mica, who’s up at that level. Great backing singers and top-level musicians too. Very soulful, a bit funky and some gospel woven in. It’s a very pleasing recipe and has a range of cool vibes that appeal to what was a really mixed audience. Mica seems very personable - what we’d called Bonny or Braw. I hope her popularity continues to grow - still don’t understand why her profile isn’t more prominent. I’ll be back next time she tours.
