Start with the police and their total lack of inaction in protecting Mica. She filed many reports with them about being harassed, followed, tracked and getting constant phone calls from her abuser. Why didn't they give this poor woman protection? I heard many police go to the Pastor's church.

That’s not how the legal system works. You have to understand the system, the massive deficits, the history, the male oriented lens (which fails to take women seriously as often and downplays male violence too often), the lack of their expertise/education in psychology and neuroscience. It’s very complex. Also, how is every threat going to be given that level of protection? There are many layers, complexities…including people who have personality disorders who misuse the system and feed into some cases not being taken seriously. No one has a crystal ball, so they unfortunately are poor at predicting future behavior (if only they’d look at the escalating pattern of most abusers/controllers) and they often refuse to act, until there is an actual life-threat. Essentially, too late, most of the time. It rides a precarious see-saw of acting too soon, or not soon enough. Civil rights are part of it. Monetary funds are a part of it…the systems do not have enough money to protect people individually, prolonged, at all. This is why, we need to learn, teach, the red flags, and believe when we see the early ones…and not commit to anyone with those. We have to have our own backs, self advocate, act on one’s own behalf, take one’s one situation seriously. The abuser will try to get you, the police usually can’t/wont protect you, so until you wake up to that reality, you are at risk for this. It’s seeing reality vs wishing the world were different. It’s not

Bingo. Rich pastor's wife dead after filing for divorce? Police not willing to deeply investigate? They're on the pastor's payroll

She did kill herself, yes, but her husband contributed to make her take that decision. Obviously none of them had/have a real relationship with God... Bad start of the relationship and terrible end....

My heart breaks for her family. She was such a beautiful young woman. She had so much to live for. She could've done so much better than that false preacher with the pug nose.

Mica sounds like she is repeating what she is being told to say in my opinion. was Someone in her in her car coaching her what to say? She doesn’t show emotions in her voice on the call that would match someone feeling like giving up in my opinion. I don’t know her but it just doesn’t ring true. Was someone in the car w her or outside the car w her?

Maybe she wanted to be out in nature. It could have been of more a comfort or something. Maybe that just where she wanted to go.

And pastor's girlfriend's husband died as well, before. How convenient. Pastor conducted his service. This pastor, his gf are for the streets.

I’m sorry but I think she was done and the family is just to hurt to accept that and I totally get that maybe the husband was a wierdo but I don’t think he killed her in the sense he took her life he just pushed her to far to the edge I hope the family can find peace

That’s a very simplistic, dualistic, and dismissive response…to an exceedingly complex situation. It shows that you prefer things to have nice tidy, “for sure” answers. Life is anything but certain. This situation is complex, layered, and multifaceted. If you can’t handle the complexity, paradoxes, uncertainty of life…this life is going to be tough, or you’re just going to be in a fog of delusion.

The reality is the husband started all this and he is the one to be blamed .no one can start over until JP admits he contributed to this

Very cold dude! Not to be joked or made fun using a pre nursery school dictionary words and only those words to speak! So sorry mam….that those who could have helped didn’t or didn’t have the empathic capacity. Would like to hear full 911 call and if there was an attempt to talk her into coming in to talk or waiting till help could arrive. Her call was a call for help and a call for her family to know where she killed herself. The calm manner in her voice, doesn’t sound like the type of despair in which someone is on the verge of suicide, but then it has been reported that when depressed to degree that suicide is the answer to stop the pain, that a person is no longer in control of what their mind and body might do when controlled by irrational feelings of depression. Often with her reaching out to law enforcement, it does raise question of maybe not totally decided outcome and if interaction while help on way can occur…letting her know she is not alone. Bargaining with her to have her agree to wait till someone who can help her gets there. Very disturbing. My paternal grandmother killed herself 5 months after my grandad died from long journey with ALS ( Lou Gehrig)! 3 months later my aunt married to my dad;s brother and having 7 month old baby, killed herself from what I think was postpartum depression. A couple years later her husband committed suicide and 2 years later my dad youngest brother killed himself. All used a gun. I was 14 at time of first 2 deaths. Being a grief counselor at a children’s hospital, dealing with death of the young child was hard to stay with wall high enough to not be totally traumatised but short enough to be effective. I have always thought that if my grandmother hadn’t taken her life…maybe the others wouldn’t have. I never thought about suicide and by her actions I believe she made it an alternative that possibly by not giving that alternative into reality may have safe the others. Peace to this family!
