This song Awakens my childhood memories. Seeing her on tv, hearing this Goddess on the radio catalysed my musical passion. Years later meeting her, I regressed to a childlike state of awe. Me in her greenroom at Ronnie Scott's, eating quietly in her presence, watching her adoringly as she was graceful, humorous, kind with her band and me.... then she levitated to the stage. Her voice cracked open, infused life and cleansed my abused heart. She may never know her impact on a Lil black girl from Wolverhampton, who met her idol and was and still is healed and in awe. Thank you Goddess Mica. The God in me is revived by The God in you. Breathe life

Yes, awe is the word. That was my reaction when I met her in Southampton after a musical she was in with my husband. She was a goddess in the flesh and had such a commanding presence. But again, she was very gracious to me. :)

This girl has such an attitude, i met her on a flight, back from LA, after she had just attended the funeral of her then boyfriend, Ally Histon, in 2004, & all i wanted her to do, is to sing this song to my girlfriend, with me doing the backing, but she refused. I asked her 4-5 times, & she kept refusing, & then she even had the nerve to try to get me taken off the flight for harassment!!
