Holy cow. I ordered the 36 colors of mica powder from the link on Amazon you gave. I love love love working with mica powder from the little bags they come in. The mica powder itself is fantastic. Like you I wasn't thrilled with the pinks in this set but I have other pink mica powders that are much more vibrant. That said the pinks that came with this set is beautiful for making things you want that antique-y look. Thank you SO much for this video. Great review and I really appreciated seeing the products on both the black and scrap clays. As I noted on another of your videos, I am just starting out with polymer clay. Your “hack” videos, your clay mixing videos (for color and adding glitter or pearl clay) and these product videos have really helped me in building the tools to do the things I want to do and helping me stay within a reasonable budget. It is so easy to go overboard! I have been using old eyeshadows in place of mica powders and did buy some at our local 99cent store, while trying to decide what other products I might want to purchase in the future. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge and opinions about some of these products. I really loved you sharing how the different treatments looked on both black and scrap clay. I will be looking forward to your future videos!

I have a question - I would like to make a very rustic, organic bead. How would you go about making it? Also, can you bake polymer clay onto wood?
@bbrown83535 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial - as usual. Have you ever painted clay after baking? I'm thinking if I used black spray paint on scrap clay the the interference powder would work. Just not sure if it would peel - but I think it might hold the paint well - anybody out there paint their cured clay?
@dianae.81925 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have "stained" a fairy door after baking using black acrylic paint and it did fine. I wiped off the excess and left the paint in the crevices.
@bbrown83535 жыл бұрын
@@dianae.8192 thank you - i actually thought that spray paint may not be the best for the powder to stick to a flat acrylic would probably work much better!

Grandma, I spray painted some cured clay using gold Krylon and then sealed it with a brush-on acrylic and so far, it has lasted. I did this on some earrings about 3 years ago that I wear frequently and the finish has been very durable. Hope this helps.
