Why is the chief planner, who gave planning permission and failed to spot the use of pyrite, not sued and prosecuted. THIS WAS NOT A BAD DAY IN THE OFFICE FOR HER/HIM. IT WAS SYSTEMATIC NEGLIGENCE.

Why isn't there any accountability for this. who made the blocks, were they tested? Who owns the quarry that provides the raw materials, does the developer have any obligation to build with safe products. I am not sure why this is a government issue to solve - by all means be a stop gap to get people housed again but ultimately I would think its the person that produced sub par materials that should be on the hook.

Sandyford Beacon south Quarter residents who paid on average 45000 Euro in VAT to government per apartment were told they have to come up themselves with %100 of money to repair shoddy work on water damage and fire exit even though building getting inspected regularly when built, but in Donegal , mansion size houses who many home owners built their own homes and paid little tax on their home should get %100 plus damages for stress, medical bills and everything else.

But you already treated them like that since Partition was brought onto this Island because of it being so close to Northern Ireland. I think it's the only county without a train correct me if I'm wrong. You have to have a car in Donegal.

What does the lack of a train have to do with this? Silly point to make.

Sadly if the 2008 crash is anything to go on everyone who should be going to prison will get off Scott free and the poor people effected by these shoddy blocks will be lucky if they can get a 100% refund even tho this should not be a question it should 100% be done

My family of 4 lived in a mobile home for 5 years. Its very tough in Irish weather. Xx my heart is with ye. It is tight and challenging but it was an experience I will also remember fondly too in many ways. But it's no way to live long term in Irish weather.

Scandalous. The planner should be held accountable and pay the cost. It would still be years in court and this family needs a proper roof over their heads. If they had a Go Fund Me I’d donate .

People in power were obviously taking brown envelopes to keep quiet about this. The company responsible for this happening were *self regulated* regarding the quality of the blocks they were allowed to produce. The people in charge allowed the company to keep on producing *known* bad blocks. Local councils were still handing out building contracts to these guys producing the building blocks even though they were known to be bad. Who was profiting off this under the table and why aren't those same people being jailed for their obvious corruption?

This is coming from a Dub: God's own people are the Donegal people. The only county who didn't vote to kill the unborn. After the suffering, Donegal will be rewarded. St. Columkille must be real proud.

Why don't they sue the sand pit owners, the block makers, the builders and the council inspectors? Its like as if all the known culprits have evaporated.

We used to have good stone walls and thatched roofs ... Christchurch New Zealand has fallen twice in the last century due to earhquakes..only one house house remained standing a cob mansion built on a stem wall of stone ... The citizens rebuilt Christchurch twice with the same materials and architecture/engineering....and nobody noticed or felt it noteworthy to explore why the "old fashioned " house remained standing....twice !

Donegal needs to declare itself a free state and immediately ban FFGP. Yep. Ban FFGP. And allow coal in the fireplace.
