I really enjoy your thoughtful approach to mousing... I also appreciate that you are taking time to "know" your mice and at times, release them back into the natural food chain. Catching and learning while leaving them alive really adds to the fun!

Only certain regions. They rarely go out in open spaces, as they feel safer close to walls or furniture, and almost never travel more than 10 meters from their nests or burrows. In any room they usually have a path they will stay on unless something forces them away from it, so it's best to try to find that path and put your traps along it.

I just wash them thoroughly with a garden hose and leave them to dry in the sun for a few hours. If you have children or pets who you are concerned about though you might want to also soak them in some disinfectant or dish detergent or something like that. Thanks for the question, and the sub!

Thanks. At this time I bought the Mice Cube, the Havahart 1020, and the Smart Mouse Trap. I'll give these a shot first. The Mice Cube has absolutely no air holes (this needs to be changed by the manufacturer), so I had to drill some... I've read in reviews that mice have suffered waiting to be released. The Smart Mouse Trap comes with holes pre-drilled. :)

Thank you for your excellent reviews. I bought this after watching and it has been catching mice so fast I can hardly keep up. Only issue..my most recent catches, and adult and juvenile simultaneously, both escaped before I could get around to them. No damage to the trap, and we think it was an outside job. Another accomplice from the outside stepping on the entrance ramp maybe? Smart little critters. Thanks again. And no, I don't want to kill them, just evict if possible.

Exodo Siete If you are looking for a good mouse/rat trap just look up the mouse/rat bucket trap on KZbin you can use water, but if you put the trap in a location to where kids and animals won't mess with the bucket trap you can use motor oil or antifreeze.Which will kill the mouse/rat in seconds rather then minutes.

From what I've read on the Amazon reviews this trap does not have air-holes in it so the mouse can breathe until released. I've read the same thing with the Mice Cube. Is it really that difficult for the manufacturer to put some air-holes in their "humane" trap? Anyway, I like the look of the trap, so assuming I get one I will drill some small holes in it. I would recommend that others concerned about this to do likewise.

I've had a tomcat live catch mouse trap out for multiple days and it still has t caught the mouse even though I've seen the mouse run along the walls and I've placed it and it still hasn't caught anything, any tips to catch the mouse or maybe why it hasn't worked?

Yes, the door has plenty of space around it so air can get in.

Why these traps aren't good is because: 1) They learn of traps and to avoid them 2) Since they aren't killed, they can still come back over and over, and like already noted, they can avoid the traps you place, because they have learned already that they will be stuck.

At home i got very cleaver rat that came from window , never eats anything inside trap or on plate and below anything . I tried many things like plastic bottles, cages ,buckets and snap but none of them is success. so is there any way to catch it?
