Michael A. Rodriguez is a spiritual Teacher and Author of the book “The Uncreated Light of Awareness”
In this interview Michael tells us about his spiritual yearning as a child and his voracious thirst for Truth, how he became disenchanted with academia and entering a monastic life. He ate, drank, breathed, lived and slept Non-Duality and went through a 5 year purification and alchemical transformation called “Poverty” by Meister Eckhart. He says: “If you think the Universe came first, you are it’s prisoner, when you know that you came first, you are free”.

My heartfelt thanks, Michael, and Renate for introducing me to Nisargadatta. My heart is so happy tonight. I can see why you were in love with him. He is reminding me of all I saw. I'm just going "wow!" at every paragraph. Like this one: "Desire is the memory of pleasure and fear is the memory of pain. Both make the mind restless. Moments of pleasure are merely gaps in the stream of pain. How can the mind be happy?" Such utter clarity. That's all. Thank you.

Michael, my comment doesn't amount to hill o' beans, but just want to say that (in parlance long forgotten) DIG what you're saying and the way you say it and the way it comes across. Like too your 'Boundless awareness' vids on youtube and in those, the conspicuous, pleasing omission of framed pics of gurus and Buddhas & Natarajas etc. cluttering up the scene and just looking like an affectation. Bravo.

There is only consciousness or Being. The separate self is real, but its apparent ''separateness'' blinds it to its true Reality, namely, that it is Being Itself. It is like a drop of water in the ocean being aware of itself as a drop. Its awareness is not really an illusion. However,as its sense of separateness dies and the drop realizes it is actually the ocean then its prior ''knowledge'' is the stuff of illusion.

liking Michael a lot!..helpful info, imho, and experience...but considering that he was being interviewed - and all that he talked about (and was he wearing a watch??, haha!!), not sure how he has totally escaped *all* attachment to the 'world of form!,' lol!!..and hey, what is wrong with form?? other than we can be imprisoned by it, for sure, at times (god, yep!, preach, 'yo!,' tell me about it!)...but esp., if *all* is included in consciousness (see?? and which is also a form of awareness, which is also form..and so on..and so on..)..even nisargadatta (who I adore his wisdom) has been associated/credited with 'the song of I AM' and 'the song of *before* I AM.' ...and I can only *believe* what I think he (Michael) was meaning to convey...but I, for one, am also aware that as long as I 'think' I'm in this world, in any way, shape or form, that *form* is still happening.. even as it may be part of the spontaneity of it all....just sayin'. 😉

I’m not sure I understand why you have to work to heal the mind once you realize fully your true nature. I am not even awakened but my understanding has led me to realize I am not the do-er. And since I am not the one having the experiences there is nothing to heal for me . It’s a true transcendence. To simplify what has worked for me was realizing this is all one chain reaction and none of us is actually doing anything. We are just programmed by the world “outside “. That realization changed everything.
