I'm met him at this club in Manhattan in like 2018. We briefly met, and he gave me very nice compliments, but he was definitely high on something. I remember telling my friend after I met him, " he should've NEVER moved back to NYC, he's just gonna get back into drugs again". And he we are....

Nah... the 90s to pre 2008 rave scene was an experience... things just never were the same... too much fake pillz... back then was REAL ecstacy... fake stuff ruined the scene... the real E made the feeling, the music, the style, the frequency/vibe... The scene can be revived but need real E to make it happen

I know he had a hard life and was a drug addict but he was objectively a bad person and a murderer, his art was just recreations of other people's more popular designs and an obvious sign of his ongoing obsession with Warhol. Video is great but I hate how people are so forgiving of someone that made the choice to not only violently murder someone but toss them out like garbage.

Thanks, He was definitely in a losing battle with his demons. I don’t know how many of his former club kids really forgave him, aside from the ones who believed that Robert Riggs, was actually the killer. It’s hard to say, for sure. But I know many of them just used him to get publicity and to make money. There was a few very shady characters in that group and Alig may have been the shadiest of them

A man was killed like trash, and to glamorize the killer is a sociopathic in itself. James St. James was an opportunist who used Alig for profit and Alig didn't have enough sense to know because Alig was a sociopathic narcissist. However, the guilt took its toll and Alig died of heroin overdose in 2020.

Omfg. Desmond was not, "doped up"...why doesn't anyone talk about Desi being on the spectrum, and drag helped him out with so much? The guys (The Peeew hosts), helped him with exposure to the dragcon type world, leading to meeting RuPaul, leading to being on Vogue twice etc...His mother was well-aware what she was doing to help her son's career and he is a happy well-adjusted kid...even outside the bullying he received at school for his identity. Michael's paintings were all over that set/apartment. It really says a great deal about the perverted masses that that is where they jumped with the whole interview. Very sad people are so bigoted they see crime everywhere. Except when someone like, Corey Feldman, says "Hey, these specific people abused me and other kids"...then, no one listens...but we must protect the children!

Thank you for this. Through your channel and the Peew, I'd sort of kept up on Alig until around 2019. He even replied to one of my comments way back when. But I was clueless about the last year or so of his life. Now I know. It's hard to feel pity for him, but at the same time I know all too well what addiction can do to a person, so... I just hope the family of his victim have finally been able to find peace, as well as Michael.

I went to his Outrage parties and hung out with him one-on-one several times before things got too toxic for me and I quit that whole scene. He wasn't even that fun to be around because he was so neurotic about his "work," i.e. relentless self-promotion. When I heard the news that he'd fatally OD'd finally, I wasn't surprised, and I don't pity him at all because he sure as hell didn't give a shit about anyone else.

I mean yeah?! No shit lol! He earned a living in the same way from the time he was a teenager to the moment he went into prison. He had the red carpet rolled out as soon as he was released- everyone wanted him to be involved in different projects that had been waiting for his release. It was already predetermined & he did what anyone would naturally do. He actually tried to make a real effort to work & make an honest living which can't be said for the majority of felons who spent almost 20 years in federal prison.

I feel bad for Ernie and felt he was trying so hard and was confronted with things he shouldn't have. I used to watch their channel and just felt like Michael was going off the rails and suspected he had returned to his old self destructive behaviors, like when they went through his lunch box with the short straws etc. I'm sure enough people mooched to get something and threw him away, but he made it worse. So crazy... I remember when he got on Facebook and we had regular conversations until he wanted me to come to NY. He was getting very pushy and basically demanding that I come. It wasn't a scam artist, as we talked via FaceTime. I know that sounds unbelievable, but it's true. Random

You did a very good job of putting together the video. I imagine it took a lot of time. It's sad to see how badly things turned out in his life. I use to attend his parties between 1990-92 at Disco 2000 and The Building. If I'm not wrong, he wasn't a big mess on drugs. The music and underground culture was amazing to experience in the early nineties.

It's really crazy cause he wasn't alone the night he OD. His mom has even stated that on her social media and in certain groups I'm in for him❤ The police were not called till a hr later and there was atleast 3 ppl there. Weirdly Keiko payed the landlord 40 dollars to go grab what he wanted. He now sells his stuff at his shows and gets donations in Aligs name🤬

As all the Club Kids always said “life is too short just enjoy it ! He lived his party time at his age, unfortunately bad things happen, someone lost its life, he went to jail he paid his time. Went out and life wasn’t shining lights like the clubs. Well said now his in peace. Rip for both of them Alig and Angel.

His depiction in Party Monster was so incredibly toned down to how loud, obnoxious, and gregarious he was in real life. I remember the Club Kids entourage when they came to Dallas and spent months in our rave culture. They were like Killer Clowns from Outer Space. Lookup any of their appearances on talk shows. How could he be irritated by his depiction in Party Monster? Even his death proves he had No self control and didn't listen to James St. James top rule, not to ever touch Heroin. Michael was very obviously Bi Polar. His mania and subsequent Crashes were the bane of his existence. That mixed with the drugs were a powder keg

Michael spent his entire post-prison release fighting his "Party Monster" image. What he should have done is embrace it and embrace his celebrity status. He probably would have had a much less difficult time if he had. He was a very troubled and tormented soul, and I empathize with him for that. But I feel like he spent too much energy burning bridges with his friends and associates after his release. I do hope he found the peace in death that he sought so much in life. RIP.

Sad story all around. It was an entirely different world when he came out of prison, he was no longer a "kid" but a convicted murderer. Angel was dead and so much potential lost. If Michael had never picked up a drug, Angel would still be alive (hopefully) and who knows what Michael could have achieved. Drugs and Fame are a dangerous cocktail.
