Michael Jackson is the king of pop, but its his J5 days that most people of color listen to. I'm not saying they are not right to maximize their potential and longevity, but if you cant go back home, are you really successful in the eyes of your peers? I'm not insinuating that those fellas are not black or they are sellouts, but they don't sing Mo Town Philly like they did before. Them cats more like the Everly Brothers or The Bee Gees to us, they cool but...you know.

As great as Mr. Bivins is, the groups he managed didn’t have longevity. Where’s ABC and Boyz II Men now? They’re not as hot as they were in the 90s. They’re run of hits was VERY short lived. Longevity is the key: New Edition/BBD, the O’jays, the Temps, 4 Tops, Stevie, Smokey are still around.

If you’re not on the charts, songs aren’t being played, videos aren’t in circulation, you’re officially old skool. That’s a good thing. Rather old skool than the crap that’s out 2day!
