Its amazing how england looked with a midfield general who dictates the tempo of the game. Some of his passes are at an uncomprehendable level. And england never built their game around this type of player. Its all about media made superstars who play at high intensity for 90 min. This midfield with carrick as a deep lying playmaker and a very good one at that was organised. Delph a left footed box to box should have been used with carrick for euro 2016 and WC 2014. 1 year later from this match eric dier was in the euro first team. Continuity would have seen delph and henderson in WC 2018. Carrick was an unfortunate omision from england he is similar to busquets. Tall rangey and very skilled. All the media made superstars has not won as many club accolades as he has and that was reflected in their achievements for country. What a waste.
