Man, I freaking love these videos. Michael Cera is one of my all time favorite actors and I love the path he's taken with these films. It's so weird and beautiful.

Michael Cera has definitely matured as an actor. I remember thinking the same thing during "Gregory Go Boom". He's very natural in front of the camera and knows how to make his characters seem so real.

I'm trying to put the pieces together. Please correct me, but it looks like Mike is on a mission for a kid. He asks every door about family. The St Patrick Prayer alludes to, what I could tell, wanting to provide rather than be provided for. He mentions that he has a wife, and mentions house where kids would usually belong. The prayer on the stairs speaks to Cera trying to find something to love, and when the man with the mirror (aka Mike looking in the mirror) asks what to say to God when he meets him, Michael says "excuse me." So it seems he's begrudgingly trying to kidnap a kid for his wife? The man at the ends dream...well it seems he's the kid as his company at dinner is mom and dad and "everybody else." The "minuscule but powerful hand" sounds like it could be the baby's small hand, forcing him to consume shit. Which is why he wanted Michael to take the baby. As for Mikes dream, the black and white horses obviously was the theme..everything, everybody was black and white. Anytime two people are in the frame, they are black and white. Painfully pale or dark. The coloring of the piece, so much of the wardrobe. I'm just not sure how the black and white theme adds to the story, maybe it's the missing piece.

Every time i see stuff like this i feel like this is redundancy. I appreciate the acting minus the strange fake accents. This is like a good high school video project doing its best to follow some pre determined undisclosed theme left to the imagination because some people like to make up the true meaning in their heads. It does its best to be odd and out of place because that is what is done in the artsy fartsy things. this is how i felt about the short, in summary a bad religious knife salesman has odd failed attempts to sell knives. Those people whom he would like to be interested in the product are not and those that appear helpful is not the type of help he wants. then there is the stairway scene which there is some kind of device meant to portray some underlying element like hes in a dream or the world is not real or hes having a mental break or something. I just put my own thoughts down and i'm not looking for validation and as long as this is something you guys like then keep at it. If weird is what you guys like here is an idea for your next video... Cera is in a grocery store looking at the vegetables and when he reaches out to grab a vegetable someone else walks by and grabs it... then an employee walks up and tells him he should go get some meat... in cera fashion he looks confused and uncomfortable and insists he does not want meant. Every so often you can hear over the loudspeaker someone say "buy"... when he goes to check out the cashier the cashier informs him he has already paid. he goes to walk out and there is only darkness outside the store and he walks into it... fade to black. That story i just made up while typing is how these things sound to me. Its an old video and i dont expect anyone to see or care about this. If you like and enjoy this video i envy you. but i have a brain that picks apart everything i see and its a buzzkill i know.

The black landlord/janitor fixes and runs the building but has no control of his own affairs the white guy seems to have a luxurious spot at the top but he has no control over his either. they both said things that stood out... the black guy asked... what do I say to God when he calls.... and the white guy said he works with cadged birds but hates to bring them home because he doesn't want to see them caged. So in a way they dont know each other maybe. One looks at one as a god and the other looks at one as trapped. So they dont communicate therefore all there misery and affairs are entangled. The weird bumpy face man tries to help but nobody will look pass his looks to listen. The black women is lost like the sales man. She probably like him travels threw life/apt only considering her own conditions and puts it on others... like she left the guy with her baby and the sales person is only concerned about hisself cause nobody asked for his assistance yet he keeps tryna sell knives. and uses his lil prayer to justify his motives just like the women. The freaky lady and her mother in the middle floor with the creep probably show how he thinks hes above some idk I have to keep thinking but I know it's a message somewhere
