Coleman was well ahead of his time by up to a century He is universally fondly regarded as the flawed genius

Where did you get these recordings ?
@DXWIZ1911 Жыл бұрын
I got my copy from Solomon Foster (who has also composed some nice tunes!). What you are listening to here has been restored. The original copy that has been circulating for years (20 years?), was of abysmal quality. Philippe Varlet has access to the original transcription disks, but I don't think a proper transfer/reissue will ever be done due to copyright reasons. You can read more about the 1944 recordings and check out the labels on the ITM 78 Facebook Group.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I found the post on the FB group. Such a pity copyright is holding it all up. 😢

@@shanefox1023There is no copyright on these, they have never been officially released.

The jig he called James O'Beirnes is really Lad O'Beirnes
@randyo57311 күн бұрын
James O’Bierne’s nickname was “Lad” and was the son of Phillip O’Bierne despite that some album liner notes have it backwards.
