This was fantastic. I was smiling from beginning to end. I wish they still did stuff like this on TV.

Comedy that is funny and clean, after he washed his props off. This is what made variety shows fun.

Michael Davis is underrated.
@mantelmann133 ай бұрын
Michael Davis is one of the most succesful jugglers in history. He was the only juggler on SNL, he starred on HBO, Broadway, he headlined with stars like David Copperfield and Liza Minlelli, he performed for several US presidents and even for the royal Family. He had countless TV appearances. You are overrating yourself, dude. All you can write is this "overrated" crap without being able to do some research before posting such brainless crap. Horrible.

I had almost forgotten about this guy. As soon as I saw his name, I remembered him as a favorite of mine on the late night shows of the late 70s. My favorite joke of his was when he juggled George Washington's axe. He had to replace the handle... and the blade.. "but it occupies the same space. "

Hilarious! I've never heard of MIchael Davis. I was wondering if Steve Martin and possibly Steven Wright were inspired by him, although I think Martin was already famous at that point.

It seems he just wasn't able to develop enough material. There are dozens of KZbin clips of him but they're all either this act with the ping pong balls or the one where he juggles the egg, apple and bowling ball. Both are absolutely fantastic, but you need to keep developing new material if you're going to have a long career. He was quite big in the 1980s, but seems to have faded from view since then. But, every now and again, KZbin pops a video of him in my recommendations, and I always watch it, and always enjoy it.

@@AF-bv7tb Michael Davis was born in 1953 and is clearly more than 12 years old in the video. Wikipedia suggests that it's either 1988 or 1989.

back in those days, they only way you could poke fun at the president, and get it past the censors, was to first show they you have washed your balls.
