Professor and author Michael Eric Dyson joins Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe to discuss the NBA as playoffs will resume following the players boycotting several games. Dyson details the impact the boycott has had on the sports world, and the power players like LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo have to influence change in their communities. Plus, Dyson lays out what players can do to influence team owners to take a stand for social justice and criminal reform, and answers whether he thinks the boycott was long enough to make a difference.

If only there were a perfectly logical way to avoid the cops good or bad. Oh I don't know, like ... maybe not committing crime? I haven't had to deal with a cop in over 20 years. What's my secret? Hmmm is it all the crime I haven't committed in 20 years? Might be a clue. They never shot me either. How did I ever survive? Did it have anything to do with me following their commands? Nah, it's because I'm white. Derp! I wonder if there's anything Jacob could have done differently to keep that white cop from looking like a bad cop.

@I Be That I Am That's not entirely true. If they hadn't done that then other sports wouldn't have shut down too. Plus, it keeps the pressure on; not to mention it just happened. We don't know what it's going to do. One of the problems with BLM that opens them up to criticism is they don't have a specific leadership structure. That allows any idiot with a BLM T-shirt that does something stupid to be associated with a movement that is effective and worthy.

@@mitchpowers3643 As a Caucasian male I have yet to see a white guy shot in the back, let alone seven times on film by police. I have however seen a white dude waving a knife at the police and NOT get shot. There is at this point a clear and repeating issue with police and how they interact with those of colour. Even IF we want to back this up and NOT focus on this incident. Let's look at the one involving Masai Ujiri. As a resident of the GTA I am proud to have him as the Raptors President. Look how he was treated on film and then look at both the response from the Caucasian law enforcement officer directly after the incident and look at the police departments response to the clear video evidence which all but proves that the officer was lying.

Very good points, thanks for that. It just caught my attention when he said black people are dying in the streets. When any color dies in the streets. I think the entire Blake situation was treated fairly by the police except for the 7 shots. No human being ever needs to be shot that many times in any situation. That was the odd part to me.

Oh no wait, "hands up don't shoot" is still a thing even though it was proven a lie by 2 separate investigations, all the forensic evidence, eyewitness testimony, and the Obama DOJ. Yeah I just can't figure out why BLM doesn't get the support it wants. Must be all those pattern recognition racists.

I was with him until he said remove the castle doctrine and stand your ground, he showed his marxists side there, you'll never disarm america or remove the ability to defend yourself and property, and if you try you'll learn what shall not be infringed means.

Stand your ground has nothing to do with taking away guns. It's about ending the rash of people, especially black men by white people, who are getting shot behind that law because some coward with a gun instigates an altercation then shoots him under the premise that he was afraid for his life.

Drill Run nobody cares that you own guns, just don’t go around waving and shooting like an idiot, literally dumb gun owners make gun owners look bad, not everybody deserves a gun just like not everybody deserves to drive if they aren’t responsible

It's a non negotiable right, you want em try and take them. I don't agree with what you say but that doesn't mean you lose your right to expression or freedom of speech, you see how rights work?

Ok then if we keep the castle doctrine then enforce it equally between all races ..... In addition just because you disagree with 20% of what he said it doesn’t mean that you have to throw out everything else.

The NBA never "boycotted". The Bucks did not show up for work and that set some things in motion. If players want to "boycott" or strike they would have to be together to have a big impact. Of course they could also do as they see right personally if they choose. That was not this tho

i don't think they accomplished as much as people think they did. they can't even be unified in their message. lebron and chris paul were trying to put one together and milwaukee went and completely undermined them.
