I absolutely love listening to the genius of Michael Eric Dyson. Much love to the BC for exposing such a high level of intelligence to the viewers, instead of just interviewing artists.

This man made so many great points, not gonna lie I shed a tear. Im a white man and I really wish more white people just understood many of the points Michael Eric Dyson made. Why is it whenever a black person is telling the truth about white privilege white people get offended. Accept the fact that there is institutionalized racism in this country, and accept the fact that as white people we have as much of a responsibility if not more to help black people in the fight towards equality.

After collecting 20 Grammys.. When he was collecting his 15 Gramy in the hip hop category he should have gone on stage and called them out. Now that the music industry is pushing him out he starts speaking up.. Same with Drake he didnt say shit before. He could have gone online BEFOREHAND and let people know why he wouldnt be turning up. (Only when it suits their agenda will these people actually do anything)

What saddens me the most about these comments is the fact that y'all are more focused on the Beyonce/Adele ordeal then anything else Michael discussed in this video. When honestly, it goes deeper than Beyonce not winning ATOY. Everything in this country is racially systemic and that includes entertainment. Saying this doesn't mean that we as Black people should hold The Grammys to a higher standard than our own award shows, it's just showing the hypocrisy, but we already knew that or at least we should. But, go off, I guess.

Showcasedmommy they wanna diss Beyonce knowing she better creativity wise and how many videos did Adele make for her album compared to Beyonce it's bigger than sales and if your comparing world wide to U.S. then you need to rethink on that because Beyonce is the best when it comes to her craft and that's all

This is why Beyonce stans/beyhive are considered idiots. You don't win Grammys for "giving everything in performances and videos." You win Grammys based solely on the recorded album which you LISTEN TO! And, guess what -- Beyonce and Adele both stand there and sing when they record their albums.

Imma say this again Lemonade not even better than A Seat at the Table, Solange Album was better than Lemonade how long ya'll gon act like Lemonade was thriller or some shit? Not even gonna listen to the rest of this shit because you bums think Beyonce losing was a race thing. You know what was a race thing Drake wining best "RAP" song for Hotline Bling, Hotline Bling was most the most played pop song on the radio waves for weeks, Hotline Bling should have been up for song of the year not rap song just because Drake made it. So just like Views basically had all 20 songs on the Hot 100 for weeks when views dropped which was history but ya'll wanna act like Beyonce got robbed. Songs off Lemonade was in the top 100 for like a week and then it died out because the album not that good despite her fame. 25 was the number one album on billboard 200 for over 20 weeks, one of the best selling albums and made history for a reason, views made history for a reason and as much as everyone wants to hate views did more and had better music than lemonde (I'm not even a Views fan).

Whaaaa? Drake wasnt nominated for song of the year bcuz hotline bling is a garbage song. The grammys is not a popularity contest or a competition to see who's fan base is bigger & who can sell more albums. Its recognition among your peers at all positions within the industry for musical excellence. Solange won a grammy in a category that was appropriate & deserved... As amazing as that album is in so many ways, it didnt deserve album of the year.

A black woman who's dedicated to artistry and the music can't get her props....which is exactly what's happening in the comments. That woman has worked DAMN hard her entire career. If not any album, this was it. "She can't win everything" she didn't win everything, she didn't even win half of what she was nominated for, but she was snubbed on this. Y'all hate Beyoncé so much you can't see that whenever we have someone in any aspect black People who perform above and Beyond do not get the credit. But continue to hate on a black woman who's changed the narrative of what a black women in music is. Taught millions of young women how to be professional and work hard. Keep praising mediocre songs and performances, it shows how easily impressed we are. Get a fake hood bish and niggas go crazy. Bye

Adele did stand up to her privilege. She admitted that the award was due to Beyoncé. She gave her half of the award. In her speech she declined the award, she said you make me feel empowered, and she added to emphasize you make my black friends feel empowered because that is what Beyoncé seeks to do through her music: empower black people. Adele in that moment did exactly what was needed, in my opinion .

there isn't an artist on the planet who doesnt' have a team. and despite all these teams, Bey has been the consistent one at the top of her craft for over 20 years. You ain't gotta call it "genius," but it's gotta be respected.

+Cheetah69 This is literally what I was about to say but it's always going to fall on deaf ears and blind eyes because once some people become fans they refuse to research or believe anything that might contradict their favorite artists. At the end of the day it's all good music.

Everybody always calls beyonce overrated so please tell me, name me another artist that can do what she does as well as she does? Name someone else who has been on top of the game for the past twenty years? Name someone who can sing LIVE and still blow while dancing as well as she does...you cant. Theres a reason for that. That woman has worked hard all her life to be who she is today and deserves every ounce of credit she gets.

I think Beyonce is a great performer, and a good singer, but to label her a genius is a stretch. Also, to insult white artists because they won, and didnt bow down to Beyonce is why Dyson gets blasted by the right. I was really happy when Beck beat her out for album of the year. His "genius" beat out Beyonce's Lol and the Phil criticism is just absurd. I like Dyson, but he ain't always right.
