I am a big fan of Michael Franks, I have a few of his CDs, and I love the poetry in his music. I have never heard of Rick Joyner before; he is a great interviewer. Thanks!

I wish Michael were more universally acclaimed. He occupies a perfect dimension of smooth jazz singer/songwriter poetry and sometimes even ambient, meditative beauty which is so unique that it is instantly recognizable. I hope every jazz lover or in general music lovers can put on one of his albums on the back porch on a warm spring night and be transported by the art he so expertly weaves.

Eggplant off of his first album is so smooth! You should see who played in that song. Just having Larry Carlton and Joe Sample is incredible.

Michael Franks had an album before the _Art Of Tea._ I wonder why he did not mention it. As a young man emigrating from Africa, I was blown away by Mr. Franks lyrics--- the imagery and metaphors are evocative.
