Why did Michael Greyeyes say he probably won't be in any more period pieces, after "Woman Who Walks?" This is before 1:27 I think. One of the best films I've seen and he's perfect in it.

Outstanding interview. One of the best I've seen. Watching both of you inspires me to be more fearless and forgiving of my mistakes . Mr. Greyeyes, I appreciate your life trajectory moving from dance, to theatre ,to academia, with such positivity totally embracing a growth mindset by not allowing hiccups to stop you. I appreciate both of your perspectives, struggling against outside expectations and judgement, and maintaining a healthy perspective about how hard people outside of the arts work for their living. So inspiring. Thank you both for unpacking the challenges of artistry and humanity.

I once heard a quote that the unfolding of our lives is like that of a painting - standing close to it we can see all the little details, but it isn’t until we take a few steps back that we are able to see the big picture. One experience weaves into the next, connecting in ways we can never fully comprehend at the moment. Loved Michael's perspective on fear and curiosity. Perhaps remaining curious about fear itself has much to teach us, providing deeper pathways of exploration and expansion. His belief in himself and the belief he instills in others is such a gift and is certainly contagious. It was amazing to see pieces of his journey, and how his love for the art, his heritage, and teaching have come together in such a beautiful way.

What a remarkable story arc this man's life has had! 😮 (When is the autobiography coming??) As a momma of 2 young adult Lakota I am so grateful for the work MG put into Woman Walks Ahead (will be required viewing at our next hanging-with- mom- crossroads.) The segment on The Show Must Go On being colonialist - the truth of it really hit me over the head... not just product versus process values but the abuse that comes with that (and not just in the theater world, that's in the western/ american work life, right?) So excited when someone shows people a different way- and it works!! Awesome episode - hope you two get to do a project 🤞

Michael your speech in the movie about Sitting Bull was very powerful! The Bible says Life and death are in the power of the tongue (words) ., When the man who is doing the interview uses Gods name to dam things, all i can think is how unwise he is ,because God is not one who does the damming . People choose to be dammed or to be blessed. Michael you are so handsome but fowl words take so much away from your appeal. You seem very intelligent , choose your words with wisdom,

Amazing podcast. Firstly, Shawn, thank you for properly introducing me to Michael's Greyeyes. I've racking my brain to see where I would have seen him. I humbly admit it hasn't been a lot, but the bonus is I can change it. I see it as a blessing to get to know someone's life story that brought them to this point in life. Anyway, I could sound like a huge run-on sentence here, so I will end with this. 1) I agree with you both that the feature film storytelling will come back (it's so needed).2) I look forward to the Next installment.

this was amazing. i will be watching this forever its so inspiring, i want to audition for Michaels horror film and i want to scream for the release of acting good in Australia please, we need good comedy's. i want to see all the cut to this interview and i would sit and watch and listen to these podcast for 3 hours. i cant believe that to get offered a role you'd need to cut your hair but i guess that's the white privilege's that's bred into me (i am working on it lol ) it makes me so mad to think he felt that was the only way he could get better roles, he is so amazing just looking at his body of work you cant tell his scope and talent is boundless and i wish he had been in top gun. his work in skipped parts is amazing , i also loved his character of Andy in firestorm. so good. i hope that kings tide come out soon it sounds like amazing new suspense drama and smoky from wildhood needs his own show please loved smoky so much. and i was sorry to hear bout you concussion i hope your doing well recovering from that, i understand that can take some time, i wish you the best. please make more podcasts and i will keep listening with baited breath. A good interview would be maggie smith and emma thompson they have had amazing careers that have spand decades and have require reinvention in every one of those decades and have the add struggle that they are woman in this industry and masters of there crafts. if you think they may do it. best of luck. xx break a leg.

I'm very much a fan of Michael Greyeyes, so many talents in one man. He's a formidable dancer, studied ballet as a young boy graduated from ballet school then went onto to dance with the National Ballet of Canada. He's a choreographer and a great actor. However, I can't understand why after his name there are his pronouns between brackets. Why no pronouns after Shawn?

What movies are they talking about before 1:27 "Wild Indian" when Michael "could not cut his hair?" They mention the words "that movie" or "movies" repeatedly before and after but don't say the names - “Blood Quantum”? Help!
