I saw Michael do this live before he went solo & was still touring w his brothers. Half the audience was on their feet in tears -- including all kinds of macho men who were seated with their heads in the hands absolutely sobbing. Live --- too beautiful & so-o-o-o powerful there are no words. Easy to see how MJ sold out thousands of stadiums during his career.

There are some times when I just break down and cry when I hear this song. Michael's voice is so exquisitely beautiful in every single way, yet tantalizingly eerie and awe-inspiring. Despite my age, I feel as though it was just yesterday when he went on this stage and sang this song. It's so fresh and new to me, even though I've known it all my life. In some ways, I can find relations between this song and Michael himself. "With a friend to call my own, I'll never be alone" is one of the most tear-jerking sentences. Especially as a teenager, he was desolate. He needed a "friend to call his own", yet no-one was ever there for him. He was lonely and burdened at such a tender age, and the public speculated nothing. Even though there is nothing that can change that now, I would like to say a couple things, most of which are directed to Michael. First off, thank you for the music. Thank you for spreading your message of love and helping others. There are endless things I could say about the emotion you pack within your words: the joy, the sorrow, the hopelessness, the hope, the dreams, and the childlike wonder. Even though I cannot help now, I will do my best of protecting your rights even after death (whether it be staged or not), and I will always spread the L.O.V.E. to everyone, just as you would have wanted. Thank you to the user who published the video, and I hope you all have a beautiful day. Please spread the L.O.V.E. and Heal the World.

My Italian American grandma loved Michael as much as she loved Elvis. She knew the words to many Thriller songs, (we would sing them together!) and like me, she would get so excited when his MTV videos came out, and sometimes we would watch them together. MJ said the lyric 'I used to say I and me, now it's us, now it's we' was the most moving song lyric he'd ever heard. Just because an artist doesn't pen the song doesn't make it any less their song. Nor can they be classed as 'stealing' a song if the song rights for other artists to use it are there🤷♂️

This was my favorite song when I was little. Hands down. The 90's when everyone was going crazy over the newest boy bands and newest pop artists, grunge, rap... I was listening to MJ & The J5. No wonder why everyone called/still calls me an old soul 💕 I was definitely born in the wrong era! My brother had a garage band and I got on the mic one day and chose to sing this song 😊 RIP Michael! Beautiful soul 🙏

I saw "BEN" opening day when I was a kid. This song should have won the Academy Award but it lost to "Morning After" from "The Poseidon Adventure." So many people have no idea this beautiful song is a love song about a killer rat that lived in the sewer.

mj a true artist, every decade he lived in he was making hits and breaking records, what a talent, no artist can match his all round talents...had he not been muredered hed still be making hits 2pac also...wouldve loved to have seen the THIS IS IT concert, but they wanted him stopped and taken out before that ever took place for some reason

Yes a beautiful song but Prince can more than match his talents as an artist. Prince produced, composed and arranged his first album including playing 26 instruments and was a far more diverse and innovative artist that Michael Jackson ever was. I’m not denying Michael Jackson’s talent, just saying Prince and also David Bowie were much better artists.
