Infusion, I am a bread baker by trade...Always wanted to play 6 strings, But because of 25 yrs. of punching dough, I can't. You are making me realize, by my having subscribed to your channel, that 4 strings are possible for me to play, and the fact holds true that the bass is the actual BACKBONE of a song...Cheers to you sir...

@babayaga17674 жыл бұрын
and yet plays it wrong
@kingdeedee4 жыл бұрын
@@duranmclemore8392 If you listen closely, you'll hear that the lower octave on that F# is actually played by a synth bass, and not the bass guitar. Although it's kind of difficult to detect unless you have quite good headphones so it can often sound like one instrument. Although having the bass player play both octaves there just seems unnecessarily difficult for a studio recording of a pop song don't ya think?

lbc murphy. his bass is "so high" because he is a serious bass player and not a poser. the clue is his name "infusion".and his clean playing. most, almost all the world's best e-bassists are trained, disciplined fusion/jazz/funk/soul musicians, and they all have it up high, where it can be played clean, left and right hands, rather than dangling down by your knees for visuals, made popular in the 70's by the world's all time worst bass player, Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols. SO. DUDE! it was cliche and old already when whatisname of Nirvana did it in the 90's. make yer choice lad. Pose, or PLAY! Jaco Pastorious, almost all the truly great bassists play it up high.
@seagab..bschons562010 жыл бұрын
Greetings Marktarmannpiano I do agree with you about the position of the bass as worn by many players. I observe that a majority of mainly rock type bassists wear the instrument practically round their ankles. Im not sure wether its just for posing or a measure of their skills or abilities.However what I do know is as a lifelong lover and player of bass guitars in various bands including rock though mostly soul funk and reggae I believe to fully be at one with an execution of the scales and to incorporate techniques such as slapping, hammerons, pulloffs, slurs, slides,as well as the occasional bass chords and comfortable pick use its much easier if your plucking is done with a slight bend at the elbow. This position furthermore allows a comfortable view of the fretboard especially for those who are wishing to really bond with the full range of the fretboard. For a few examples watch victor wooten, stanley clarke, or any of the featured bass guitar tutorials here on Utube. that said.... Flea of the Red hot chilli peppers is a phenomenal player who generally hangs his bass quite low. Playing position is entirely up to individual preference. The main thing is to enjoy the pleasure of this wonderful and fulfilling instrument. Wether your just sat in your bedroom dreaming of success one day or out there in a big stadium Have fun.... BLESSINGS...
@MarkTarmannPianoCheck_it_out10 жыл бұрын
Flea had to do it that way. for the pose. Chili Peppers are a very visual sell, between the singer's singing, the silly lyrics, and the minimal sound. I hardly ever sit down and "just listen" to them. Just tune in once in a blue moon for a dose of fun poppy wierd funky beach dude drugger stuff. I'll bet in the studio he's got it way up high for the "hard parts".
@seagab..bschons562010 жыл бұрын
Greetings marktarmannpiano hey youve got the chillis well sussed. I couldnt agree with you more. In case you havent noticed but it proves our point Flea is now featured doing bass guitar tutorials on utube and guess where he wears the bass throughout....practically under his chin....Blessings....

great watchin' you play it. One of the best bass lines out there and I've always considered it a clear intro rip-off of Hall & Oates' 1981 hit (I Can't Go For That, No Can Do) which had a very similar intro some 12 months before Michael Jackson's Billie-Jean came out. Have a listen and compare the two intros. Aaron from Australia.
