The musicianship on this song (and album) is immaculate. So many elements at play. I've said that this was MJ's best album for years and more and more people are coming around to that realization.

You were cracking me up saying how you were an early Michael Jackson fan because I am what you call an early MJ fan sweetie....lol I used to watch the Jackson 5 cartoon show and listened to their hits when MJ was like 7. Really like your channel. 🙂

Nice! This dropped when I was in seventh grade and I remember how the girls at school would squeal and start dancing whenever it came on the radio when we were hanging around after school listening to music.

This album is GREAT because of the musicians that were participating in it...and of course with the Dude himself Quincy Jones. When you have the Seawind horns, George Duke, Paulino DeCosta, Brothers Johnson, etc....where can you go wrong!!

I agree that Off The Wall was his best work..!! Every single song on that album is a banger.. This one blows the boogie meter up !!😂 I have great memories dancin and singin to these songs..the 70's and 80's were just fantastic music wise and to be young..the youth discos of the 70's and the clubs of the 80's..l consider myself very lucky to have been young during these eras..🇬🇧💕🙏✝️👍👏👍👏🎵🎵🇺🇸

One of my favorite genres to come out of the 70’s was jazz fusion, which some might say came before the 70’s, but in some cases, what we come to know as smooth jazz or contemporary jazz essentially came from Jazz fusion..

Amen to the idea of the 70;s being a bouquet of different musical styles. I always felt you could crossover into a genre you liked as long as the records sold. The Stones did a disco album "Some Girls" and Herbie Hancock had a Jazz-Funk hit with"Headhunters" Where else could such diverse stuff be in your Top 40 songs..

I think there's a lot of people like myself who actually agree with off the wall being their favorite Michael Jackson album, but actually, 1972 was michael jackson's solo. Debut album got to be there number 4 on the hot 100 charts. And it's actually an excellent bubble gum pop/ R&B LP. PS Michael was only 13 years old.
