Ok, now that's a pretty big stretch. Pentatonix is so much higher-quality than this, pentatonix's articulations are better and they are better in tune than this group. Not to say that this group isn't great, because it's something I'm fairly positive I couldn't do lol just saying PTX is more famous for a reason.

The vocal arrangement is perhaps too cluttered (too many voices) most of the song. MJ always and rightly said that less is more. Some of the sounds (background "boum boum") may also not be fitting with the song.

Hard to believe Quincy Jones fought with Michael not to put Smooth Criminal on the Bad album because he thought it was not a good song. Michael wanted to call the entire album Smooth Criminal and thought this was a great song and should be included.
