This song is inspired by Annie, the CPR doll, who was a real unidentified woman found washed to shore on a beach in France. They made a death mask of her for forensic reasons. Later her face was used for the CPR dolls. You are taught to shake the doll and ask Annie, "Are You ok Annie " and if she doesn't respond to start CPR. It was never determined what had exactly happened to the real Annie, but fool play was assumed and the case remains unsolved.
