This. Takes me back to 1/2 of my lifetime listening to Michael, starting in the late sixties in Chicago ❤

I was one of the engineers that worked the Exit in those days... not sure if it was me or Al Craig that mixed this show, but Michael and I got to be pretty good friends around this time... Listening to this actually brought tears to my eyes and reminded me of his amazing skills and talent. There was one memorable night... maybe this very night... when I somehow found myself in someone's living room as Michael, Leo Kotke, and Jerry McEwen played amazing improvisational guitar music till the sun came up. Awestruck doesn't begin to describe it... but magical moments like that weren't that unusual in Nashville back then. What a great life we lived. Thanks Michael. You are missed...

What a delight, to be still getting "fresh" MJ music! Funny to think of this performance happening two years before I'd realize Michael not only had songs even better than "Bluer Than Blue," but that he was an absolutely brilliant guitar player and arranger. How the record companies thought the guitarist half of his musician's life should be buried beneath pop arrangements utterly mystifies me. I'm glad someone thought to record and preserve this performance, and grateful that Cindy continues to bring these recordings to the light of day. -Tom

It's really nice that you put the setlist online with the artists that wrote the songs..

My dream is to have a Japanese edition of Michael Johnson on a 2in1 CD. I have some of his albums on vinyl here in Brazil. It's rare to find items of his to sell.
