This is game 6 of the 1993 NBA Finals, the clinching game of the series where John Paxson made a 3 point field-goal with only seconds left when the Bulls were trailing by 2, securing the Bulls' 1 point victory over the Suns.

I was born in 95 and unfortunately do not have the privilege of seeing and remembering MJ in his prime. As a life long basketball fan I watch old games just to see what the different eras and generations were like, and I can confidently say that Michael Jordan is not only the greatest basketball player of all time, but the greatest athlete to ever live. And that is no disrespect to a lot of great players including LeBron who I have 2nd behind him. But NOBODY is Michael Jordan. He is in a class by himself.

Not only did the Bulls never lose in the NBA Finals. They were never even taken to a game 7. In this series, they were three and 0 at America West arena. In their first championship in Los Angeles, they were three and 0 at the Great Western forum. We will never ever see captivating dominance like Michael Jordan and the Bulls

As much of a Jordan fan I am and even was more in my childhood you gotta tip your hat off to Sir Charles. The guy really showed heart out there and wasn't going down without a fight. Charles is a HOF player and as much attention MJ gets (rightfully so) I still wish Charles would have won at least one NBA Championship because he really deserved it.

I remember seeing this game back then, and thinking how in the hell the Bulls were going to win this game? That's why Jordan was the best leader I ever seen, He kept everybody calm, hitting all the shots in the 4th quarter except the 3 by Paxson. We were all lucky to have seen a player this special in our lifetime.

Great upload mlynch. I think the best part about this game was Jordan's leadership. After losing Game 5, the mood on the bus going to the airport was apparently pretty gloomy...until Jordan got aboard wearing a fedora and sunglasses, and chomping on a cigar, w/the words "Hey World Champs." That set the tone, and throughout the game, Jordan was always the calming influence when things seemed to be slipping away.

paxson had alot of guts nailin' that 3. the play was set up brilliantly. make phoenix think MJ was gonna' take the last shot, rotate it to pippen, then pippen kicked it to horace grant. at that point, i thought grant was gonna' just score & we were gonna' go into OT......never saw paxson standing in the corner all by himself (apparently, neither did the suns......lol). the rest, as they say, is history. i'm probably the BIGGEST jordan fan of all time.....since the dave corzine days.

How can there even be an argumanet made for anyone else?? Jordan is the best ever- no doubt about it. No doubt that was the best era of the NBA- how about around the 3:00 minute mark- Pippen HUGE dunk, Ainge comes right back and nails a 3, then BJ Armstrong immediately rips a trey- fast, furious, & awesome!!

To all the idiots that claim Jordan and the Bulls faced no "D" in this game, this series (and most of their championship winning runs), check out what Phoenix did in the 4th quarter of this game... How many players on the Bulls scored points during that period and how many did they get in total? Apart from Paxson's game winning 3, it was JORDAN who scored the remaining 9 POINTS in the 4th, because the Suns clamped down HARD on the Bulls defensively. Pippen went AWOL points wise.

Looking back, nothing has changed. Players have been doing bone-headed players since forever. With a 2 pt lead, just protect the 3. John Paxon was money that year. Danny Ainge should have stayed home. Horace Grant still had to score over Mark West to tie the game. Danny Ainge should have stayed home.

Boston's defensive scheme, particularly their box one defense, is what allows them to play top stars like Kobe "one-on-one". It's fallacious to think the Allen is merely playing Kobe one and one, and locking him up. No disrespect to MJ, but never saw anything like Boston's D in an NBA Finals, certainly not against these Phoenix Suns.

Barkley said "The Suns were the Best team in basketball" by winning the most games in the regular season. But NOBODY remembers that. What matters is that Championship Ring. Jordan 6, Barkley 0. I am sure MJ gloats every time he gets together with Sir Charles. Barkley was a great player but was always beaten by a better player/team. Still he remains one of the funniest NBA commentators around. I love it when he say 'turrrible, that's just turrrible." What a TURRRIBLE golf swing he has too!

furthermore, the early 2000s were the period of the most intensely prohibitve defensive rules the NBA has seen, when rule changes led to all-time lows in pace, scoring, possessions, and viewership accordingly plummeted because it had turned into a drag-out drudge-fest. the 04 pistons benefitted and won on this era. yet 40 year old Jordan still put 20-23 on around 43.2%, 6 boards, 4 assists, and 1.5 SPG on a team where the second option was a rookie rip hamilton and the third brendan haywood.

Lakers offense looks so much like this with kobe in stead of jordan in the post on the box. The only problem that Lakers have is that they use Gasol in the post more than Kobe who is the better passer and a greater threat than Gasol. Maybe Phil needs to play these tapes again in the locker room

Right now name me 4 shooting guards averaging 20 ppg or more. Kobe, Wade and Harden are the only 3 . In MJ's time there was him, reggie, rolando blackman, King and probably a few others i'm not remembering. The shooting guard position never was flying. It's consistant like it has throughout history. What u had was point guard/ combo guards. That and the fact that an increase could onyl be expected with lebron, carmello, wade, etc being rookies before the changes.

@KobeConfidence con't. "Why with MJ don't u tell him to quit shooting?" MJ vs kobe in career FG/FT attempts and FG% in the triangle MJ: 23.10 FGAs 7.9 FTAs on [51.2 FG%] KB: 21.84 FGAs 8.3 FTAs on [45.2 FG%] Any questions? And when U look at their made/missed shots and ppg avg from those shots, it's OBVIOUS that MJ consistently MADE more shots (and avg'd more pts) than kobe, while also consistently missing LESS shots than him LOL!! His FGAs were more justified..period

Dude last year Kobe had to have the ball in his hands more often than he ever did. Dude u haven't seen the lakers as a team. They were so awful that Kobe literally was the only one who could get them a bucket sometimes so of course he's going to do a lot of iso's. Have u noticed Pau Gasol the last 2 playoff years? The dude is average like 12ppg on 42% shooting. Do u know how bad that is for a big man? If he didn't decline so bad L.A easily makes the finals.

for reference, kobe shot 43% this past year, in the era of the NBA which is most charitable towards guards and in which defensive rules are designed to promote scoring guards. so was kobe in 2003 better than jordan in 2003? duh. better than jordan in the totality of his career, or even the jordan of a few years prior in 1998? no. he never was, and he never will be. the stats reflect it, the awards reflect it, the play reflects it. he's never scratched jordan's level on any real basis.

Hard to believe the bulls only won 57 games in 92-93 season... i meaN 57 wins is a good good season. Not for the bulls standards. When i think of the bulls i think 60 plus wins easy and high 60 to 70 wins..

@casey8155 SMH... That game was more physical and more effort was being shown on each and every possesion than any game ever. That's why both teams scored so few of points. Kobe didn't have a great post season because much of the time in the games he could be making plays offensively had to be used to try to get GaSoft and other lakers to quit lolly gaggin. Gasol saw weak defense last year is why he played well. It's one thing to be contained but vs good defense he just gets shut out.

When a guy is standng near a guy but there hand is down that's not Michael Jordan being a god with great moves. That's bad defense. Perimeter defenders and offensive ones as well have better footwork and athletism to stay in front of guys, as well as bother putting a hand up when they're near him.

How can the Suns and the Jazz be better than the Bulls if they failed to defeat them in their respective Final series in the 1990´s? It´s useless to say that the Suns and the Jazz would have won a 7th game if it had took place... they couldn´t even force it... the Bulls would have won it anyway... that´s the truth... accept it...

@KobeConfidence "MJ played in an era where 34 years old Benerard King could average 32 ppg" So what's that say about how good he was?!! U never even saw him play! He was a scoring machine in his prime! 6'1 A.I. won 4 scoring titles in this era. Mediocre guys like Stackhouse and G. Arenas were able to avg 30ppg and 28ppg respectively 1 season in this era. And T-mac won a scoring title on only 28ppg LOL!! But you're trying to imply that MJ's era was easier to score in?!! That's a joke LOL!!

What part of new school is better than old school do u old timers not understand? If u took 1988 MJ the way he was that year and put him in the nba today do u really think he would do as well as he did back then? He's MJ so of course he's not gonna be a piece of shit but he's not gonna be the exact same player with more large guards, athletic as in stronger and faster players to guard him. Oh and hey he'd have to work on the defensive end as well instead of d'ing up no names!

How bad does it suck knowing Kobe aint gonna drop off like u haters want? Oh and by the way he's playing more off the ball with their new offense so there's that stupid myth that he couldn't play off the ball like MJ did. It just goes to show that even at 34 years old he can shoot 50%. He never cared to before because he knew it wasn't a big deal. The only reason he's doing it now is because hehas to because he can't take as many shots with his new team.

Michael Jordan dominates the game even before he steps on the floor, not Kobe nor Lebron could do that. Jordan dominates both offensively and defensively, as well psychologically. He is a great chess player. He thinks 3-4 steps ahead. There is only one Michael Jordan. He is often imitated, but never duplicated. IMO, the best basketball player ever.

The first nine points. The last one coming off a quick layup that took only a few seconds off the time clock. Similar situation occured in 98' against the Jazz when MJ quick layuped over Russell that only took 4 seconds. That gave the Bulls time enough to steal the ball and get another gamewinner, this time from MJ himself.
