Seriously. The first decade of the 2000s was harder to play in than now. Could you imagine Michael playing against some of these teams. Portland Trail Blazers are good but no D. He would absolutely fill it up on some of these teams. Defense is a lost art.
@TheLionaaa9 жыл бұрын
The crazy thing about it is that if Kobe Bryant (even in his prime) was making the same kind of spectacular/difficult shots Jordan made (plus MJ makes it look SOOO easy), commentators would be yelling every time "what a difficult shot !". I love Kobe but he is NOWHERE CLOSE TO JORDAN. Now this is Jordan, coming back from a 3 year retirement, which is absolutely crazy but you still have some Kobetards who say "He got a rest for 3 years". Ok, Kobe barely played basketball those last 2 seasons, so why he "didn't got a rest"? Anyway, I hope Kobe tries to do a come back at age 40 like MJ, so people will be able to see HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO DO A COMEBACK in professional sports. And Jordan was playing on one leg in his entire 2 seasons in Washington. Later on, he even had the same injury that Derrick Rose and Russel Westbrook had in his knee. He still came back (after playing 14 games with that injury, (which is unheard of) the following season and played 82 games in the season. The best there is, the best there ever was, the best there ever will be...Michael Jordan !

I don't know if LB or KB will play like this at 38...well for Kobe we'll see in a couple of years if it's true or not I hope he could it'd be great! Anyway, I watched this footage again after one year and I still see a 38 years old player scoring 51 points and beating all defenders they "throw" at him and dominating with his overwhelming presence! Is the same sensation as I watch a soccer game with Pelé when he was 38, something almost magical that I can get only if I watch these two monsters! And as I watched it, I couldn't stop thinking that if 38 years old MJ would play in today's NBA, he could play like that with no problems....and MJ in his prime could play like that in his sleep!

This is actually the story told by Doug Collins who was coaching Jordan here. As said by the commentators at the start, Jordan scored less than 10 pts in the last game breaking his 10+ pts scoring record and this was because Doug Collins pulled him off the game w/out knowing how important it was for Jordan to score more that ten. Jordan talked to Collins and asked him if he still believes he can play, and Collins answered "yes" but MJ somehow felt it was not sincere. And THIS happened.

24pts in 1 quarter as a 38 year old and people think MJ couldnt score 81 or more. MJ even scored 19pts in 6 minutes to make a come back and win a game and has had 6 threes in a half, then didnt play much of the 2nd half as they had the game already won. MJ didnt go for STATS, he tried to win. If MJ cared about stats, he probably wouldnt have won many rings & had some Wilt-like scoring numbers (of course not rbnds/blocks. It's really an amazing feat for 'MJ' which is nothing new, but to score 51 pts at almost 39 years old is just absurd man. And to top it off being the only 40 yeard old player to ever score 40 pts in an NBA game. Obviously 'MJ's' final 2 seasons with 'Washington' we're nowhere near his best seasons, but to average 22 & 20 ppg at the ages of 39 & 40 is just mindboggling to me, eventhough most of his athletic skills had left him, he was still good enough to be among the 15 best players in the NBA.

kid pls whats up with the hate? malone is one of the best scorers of this sports history. Never stop to rest. Did 25-10-4 for 19 straight years. Way more difficult. He is not Jordan bitch. Jazz was the only team who actually gave some real hard time on Chicago. Look at the games results. All the others were soft compared against Jazz. MJ is number 1 but have some respect to players specially when they played at such a hard and legendary era as 80s and 90s. Just watch your tongue kid
@mr.e3479 жыл бұрын
+Your moms lover That same Pacers lost the following season to 8th seed Knicks to a 37 year old still standing Ewing. Finals are way different. That BS Malone choked is ridiculous. Shows how someone can keep repeating what others says and don't actually see the game and series. Malone had some hard time playing on road. That didnt stop him to deliever 30 and 37 to tie the series in 97. That didnt stop him to deliever 39 on MJ last game in Chicago as a Bull in 98. Didnt stop him to deliever 31-11-7 on game 6. Yes, MJ stole the ball from him on a play him and Stock would do for 13 years and no one would ever steal (MJ greatness on defense) but he had a hell of a game. Know your facts before blame the whole series on Malone playing with 1 HOF at 36 years old while MJ had 3 HOFs and the greatest coach of all time. Kids...
@mr.e3479 жыл бұрын
No that is your mistake. He missed 2 ft on game 1. The exact same need happened in game 4 and he made both and Jazz tied series. And who said Jazz would win series if they win in game 1 anyway. And Malone didnt let MJ steal the ball. They did that play over and over again for years and no one ever stolen (except drexler once). Thats how MJ is a hell of a defender. No one would ever imagine MJ would leave Hornacek free enough to go fast and steal that ball. Simple. Malone delieverd 25 ppt per game on that series. That is not choke. MJ develivered 45. thats the difference between great and legendary. But sure its easy to say everyone chokes. I cant imagine what other great players you consider "choke". What your kids cant understand is that Bball is about team. Malone, Barkley, Ewing, KG in Wolves, Miller had to carry their team on their back over and over while execs and gms wouldnt do their job creating something called rotation ( Bulls, Lakers and Spurs did oh oh "coincidence"). So the whole 90s/00s you expect that one or 2 great player will get rings by themselves? MJ is legendary but even him had 3 other HOFs to play along and few shooters but sure no one remembers that.
