Just by listening to MJ's interviews you realise the VAST difference he has with the rest of the field... His understanding of the game and his mastery of it, is really on a whole other level, that has nothing to do with skill or physical attributes, but the whole philosophy behind it... The guy was just born to grace the basketball court... he is a LEGEND.

Totally. Jordan was/is a philosopher. He approached his game and the game of basketball in general from multiple psychological angles at all times. It wasn't just that-, how-, when-, where-, and why he (and the Bulls) won games or lost games accordingly. Every answer he gave to anybody who asked any and all questions of him about virtually any topic of discussion pertaining to basketball or life itself, Michael Jordan examined the content at hand with utmost wisdom, reason, and rhyme. He could and would blow you away with his thought process as much as he did playing on the court and dunking in the air. A one of a kind human being. There will never ever be another one like him.

I love Jordan in interviews. He needs to do more TV stuff. ESPN needs to pay the man to talk about basketball.

Agreed. At the very least he should virtually join a set when there’s a big game during playoffs and chime in with his analysis. That would be nice

It’s interesting when Michael said he’d retire in 93, but he kept at it until the finals of 98, and then felt he was finally done with his long basketball career. I found it interesting to believe but I get where he’s coming from. He’ll always be one those NBA legends nevertheless.

I think this is the only interview I have ever heard Michael compare himself to one of the greatest basketball players of all time in Dr. J. You can tell Jordan is tired at this point in his career with the Bulls. How many players can actually say they reached their fullest potential? Very few, and Michael did so mentally and physically in 1998.

You can't name 1 bad player with GOOD stats or efficiency. EVERY great player that has ever played any sports had great stats to go along with their greatness. Kobe is no exception. In the end, his numbers will speak for him just like it has for every player that has ever played any sport to date in human history.

As much as I think 97 Finals were actually toughest but you got agree with MJ. Bulls won because of their mentality and their defense. Jazz offense were amazing. But Jeff couldnt argue anyone anymore. Russell either. Orstateg and Foster a joke. Its easy to blame on Malone at 34, Stockton at 35 old. Malone had 39 points on game 5. 31-11-7 on game 6 (on a very controversy calls by Bavetta on Eisley and Harper). But Bulls had Rodman, MJ, Pippen, Harper, wow.

I am taking it as far as I need to, so that people understand. People are so quick to write Jordan off, like he never acheived greatness. Everyone is so quick to compare Lebron to Jordan or Kobe to Jordan, why? None of these players have had the impact on the game like Jordan, so why should they get the recognition. Before Jordan "Big Men" were the bossess of the basketball court. Kobe owes his whole style to Jordan (finger waving, tongue out), as far as Lebron, he needs a championship first.
@KQH813 жыл бұрын
Jordan and the Bulls are the only team that went undefeated in the NBA Finals. That alone makes Jordan the greatest player ever, and for these little kids to compare Bryant to Jordan is a fucking insult to him and to the game of basketball.

Aside from Kukoc, nobody shot the ball well. Pippen had the most assists on the team with 4.8. It's probably easier to get assists with Jordan as your teammate, don't you think? Anyway, let's forget the facts for a second.

if you watched michael and the bulls during the 90s you know that at this point they were indeed old and tired. i know people blame jerry krause for breaking up the dynasty but as a true bulls fan i believe that this was the last time this team would've won had they stuck together after 98.

@megatroll I disagree. Although NBA is not exactly what it used to be, the play style has changed, there are more dunks and glamour and stuff, you can call it bragging, or you can call it emotion. And there are still many great talents today such as Howard, LeBron, Wade, Rose, Bosh and many more. And there will always be more. Michael Jordan was great, but you should understand that NBA is always changing. That's what's great about it.

yes athleticism somewhat dictates the success you're going to have in the league but not in its entirety!!! if you have athleticism you'll have an edge on the competition but that doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to dominate!! what was the difference when jordan played with the bulls and the wizards?? one word, athleticism, he didn't have it anymore which is why he didn't dominate!! athletes of today would mop the floor with athletes in the 80s,70s and 60s!! that's a fact!!!!

based on what do you think that lebron has more of a chance to change the game or even reach the greatness that mj has?? and i never said that athleticism determines basketball skill did i?? wtf where did you get that from?

tbh the nba as of now is because of mj, the players don't wanna be labeled as the player who has never won a championship, he is great but he never won a single ring. nowadays 3 or more superstars gather, the competition is not that great, small markets suffer.
@nickloks15 жыл бұрын
to follow up on this comment, you said that players of today wouldn't stand a chance against teams in the 80s is absurd, lemme tell you why, these teams were constructed in an unregulated environment. Back in the 80s their was no salary cap, the teams with the biggest markets had the luxury of spending as much as they wanted, in todays game you can't do that without paying a high luxury tax with a lot of these owners aren't wiling to do

@bigbossman999 What do you mean ONLY 31? Look at every player in the NBA. They start declining at age 30 -31. Its apparent in Kobe's game today. He has great moments. But if you look at his numbers they are dipping at a steady rate. I know Kobe fans hate stats. But Stats with all players shows them at their best and during they're decline. Its a steady gauge for every player that has ever played. Jordan is the most efficient player ever. Wilt is next, then it goes down the list.
