It's hard to believe that time flies by so quick, and MJ turning 60. Happy Birthday, MJ!! My entire family who didn't watch sports would all sit in awe of what he was doing, It was a spectacular event. He made me fall in love with basketball. I don't agree with the today's game, you got guys like kawhi and giannis and even sometimes Anthony Davis. Maybe it's because they knew they couldn't stop it but the effort to me doesn't look like today's game
@dre3k78 Жыл бұрын
@@robertmartin8603 Today's game emphasizes the 3. Back then it was all about mid range game. You are going to have a man or a hand in your face every time you shoot anything less then a 3. Also no more hand checking in todays game....and tons of flopping. Contesting players at the rim is rare as well. The NBA made rule changes to speed the game up and promote more scoring to sell the game overseas....at the cost of the defensive portion of the game. This is the best highlight reel of Jordan I've ever seen put together. There's a bit of all the things he did on a regular basis -- the freakish ability to easily catch the ball with one hand, the complete terror he was on the fast break, the speed, the agility, the other-worldly body control in the air, the never-ending array of highlight-reel reverse layups, the explosive first step blowing by everyone in the league, the steals, crashing down on players to block shots from behind, finishing over 3+ defenders in the lane, the mid-range game, and of course, the dunks -- and he dunked on everyone, including the most elite rim-protectors: Dikembe Mutumbo (4-time Defensive Player of the Year), Alonzo Mourning (2-time Defensive Player of the Year), and on and on. And look at how much higher his hand is over the rim than the centers he keeps dunking on in the video. It was truly unreal. It's hard to convey how much he seemed at the time to be not-human, like he came from another planet. He was just that much better than everybody, essentially at everything. He was named MVP 5 times, but in truth he was the best player in the league many more years than that.
