@@shawnbantz my biggest takeaway after watching the last dance and this press conference is that MJ was so successful because he truly lives in the moment and thinks positive thoughts. That’s easier said than done and he didn’t just preach it but lived it.

Im usually not one to say "oh today's players dont measure up to back then" but i gotta admit Pippen and MJ not only played like champions they spoke like champions to. Nothing sounds rehearsed its just sheer confidence in themselves and each other. Thanks in large part to their Zen like culture.

I think this 10 part documentary coming out later this year will give the world a different view of Michael Jordan and what made him so fierce. Everyone knows how he was a killer on the court during the NBA game and he hated loosing at anything. But this whole watching the Bulls in practice with MJ will show all of us how much he pushed each player to become a champion. If you couldn't take critism Jordan would run you off the court or team.

"Shut up and play" "Whatever it takes to win" "No doubt what we can accomplish". This man had supreme confidence in himself. He had the most competitive attitude and killer instinct in all of sports. No excuses. No bullshit. No whining. Losing in the Finals wasn't an option to him. Winning was in his blood. No one certainly not LeBron James will ever come close.

You see how jordan speaks he says we and makes no excuses for nothing he never did and when his team lost games he blamed himself. Mj is the greatest to ever play the game of basketball all he wanted to do was win chips. He never blamed his teammates he put everything on himself unlike today's fake stat padder LeBron. Who when he wins it's all him when his team loses its all there faults and not his. I've never seen Another player make as many excuses for losing than LeBron does.

I don’t know if this is an adequate explanation of why Jordan is the GOAT but I’ll try. Today’s players take too many liberties with the game meaning they go out and play and if I win I win and if I lose I lose. Jordan would never take any liberties with the game. He is that rare gem that truly never had any fear and treated the game with so much respect and professionalism. He would never say I’m more than an athlete. He was more humble than that . He was the athlete. The ultimate athlete. The GOAT.

9:56 MJ: "I heard a question just a few minutes ago..'is some of the swagger about [being] a championship team gone, lost in this series?' Probably. But no one's taken anything away from us thus far..." this is old school, just a confident man speaking bluntly because there's no reason for false bravado...so different from today's 'stars' who would've answered in some overcompensating manner, full of cliches... "uh no, absolutely not..we're focused and we're gonna get it done. We know what we need to do and that is to bring our energy and our 'A' game and just really come together and make this a team win." Man, we were so spoiled in the 90's :(

The game 7 play that best defines Jordan's greatness and championship spirit: The Pacers were hanging onto a 77-74 lead late when Jordan tied up 7'4" Rik Smits for a jump ball. Smits got the jump, but it got directed to Pippen, who threw to Steve Kerr for a tying three that changed the momentum of the game.

But Utah had a great chance to beat the Bulls in a very-evenly matched Finals. Yeah, that series went 6, but w/o Jordan's absolute heroics in Game 6 on both ends of the floor, the Bulls are facing a Game 7 @ The Delta Center w/ Scottie Pippen in worse shape than Isiah Thomas was in @ The Forum in Game 7 against the Lakers. Game 6 @ Delta Center was the de facto Game 7 of The Finals.

If I may add, during 90's especially Bulls time, if someone is badly injured or indisposed, and can cost their whole career, they still played hard to the best that they could, they even forced themselves to the limit, because their mentality as one team specifically Bulls is to play with the team, to avoid being burden to the team, and to contribute and win. Like Jordan's flu game, and Pippen's back ache on where he still stood up hurting severely despite of the excruciating pain, just to give Jordan a screen and make the basket. That's pure dedication, that's pure commitment and sincerity. They let the payees and fans feel and realize that they are doing such passion, not because of themselves alone or to protect their finances, but for the love of the game, for the love of the sport. The last passionate player I saw was the late Kobe Bryant which I consider 2nd best. But after him, especially today...nah...I'm not saying everyone, but mostly, their playing just to protect their finances. For me, mentality during the 80's, 90's until Kobe was pure exceptional. Yes, health is important but, when it comes to your profession, you will do whatever it takes, just to get the goal, and a risk will always be a part of it. That's just synonymous to being a cop, military, fire fighter, electrician, foreman, kitchen crew, security guard, etc.

Well....Mike was and is da man....you p1ss him off...you get no questions...no interviews....and no career lol as Sports Illustrated..they kept paying him to put his image on their covers...but after their baseball article....he never ever gave them an interview LOL..... as they used to joke back then....Captain on the court, Coach on the Bench, GM in the locker room and Commissioner outside the stadium. Not sure how old you are....but MJ is the reason why the NBA went global.... Larry and Magic got it to primetime...from games being shown on replay at 10pm and MJ took it global....with the help of Nike, Gatorade etc....remember both those companies....were built around him....before MJ Nike was an upstart like under armour 5 years ago and Gatorade was a an unknown scientific formulation drunk by NFL players out of unmarked cups lol I ain't joking...you can google the sales figures...its a public fact....so to tie it all back..... if you ain't writing about Mike you didn't have a job

theloverswineverytime your trash! Scottie Pippen is one of the most intelligent, hardest working, team player, class act to ever play the game. The man played over 100 games a year his entire career with a basketball god... Im sure Jordan in all his greatness was pretty dang tuff to work with everynight. This man did it, and shined! It seems if i read your comment correct, you are racist? If i am misunderstanding then i apologize, but if you are then Wow! A real life racist! Your a dinosaur! That day has came and gone my friend. Ive never met anyone from the 50's before. Well, let me welcome you to the internet my friend. And the 21st century. Americans are not america's enemy anylonger. After the 50's we learned some hard lessons. Today in 2018 we have an enemy that threatens all Americans. So, please quit listening to your dumbass dad, or whoever is telling you that stupid shit.... And get with the times. We could sure use you on the front lines of the real fight with us!

Pippen injured during most of that regular season made Jordan play more minutes and put on more effort than he used to since rookie years. Phil couldn't give him more rest while nearing the playoffs, and that had a toll in how some teams like the Pacers neverless good team possed more danger than they were suppose to last against the Bulls. Jordan willed the Bulls even when this wasn't his best night or the best version of himself.

I blame the league. Like NFL people Care so much about the Offense blah blah. Rules to help the offensive sides. Defense or physical play makes the Game [NBA] way more entertaining. I know NFL tries to keep players safe but man. Changes always go for the Offensive sides of Sports.
