I collect guitars and bought this guitar recently, I never had a Michael Kelly and was curious. This thing plays way above its price tag. Every setting is playable and pleasant to the ear, the fretboard is slick and fast, fretting is perfect, I just love it. This is a keeper for sure, I'm even gonna play it in church. Even the piezo gives a very decent tone,, unusual in most guitars in my experience but this guitar is an exception. Get one.

I have an acoustic bass that I love! A friend of mine has this guitar, and I think it sounds amazing! I think this particular guitar is very versatile and innovative. I'm sure that my next guitar will be a Michael Kelly.

I'm going to recommend a Michael Kelly guitar for anyone who is looking to add to their collection I stumbled across a beautiful hybrid special last week and have been playing it and absolutely love it! I have put my Stratocaster and esp ltd aside for the time being because I'm really loving my new Michael Kelly

Upon further analysis I think the T5z is a better option. It costs more, but it's much more versatile.

Rex Goliath the pickup combination in the Taylor is a lot more attuned to different sound combinations. This demo doesn't demonstrate the effectiveness of the acoustic settings. The Taylor design for acoustic pickups is unmatched. This demo just showed a bunch of electric settings. I've played a Michael Kelly like this and it is a lot more cumbersome to change the settings than a Taylor T5z. The easy 5 way selector switch and easy access tone knobs make it easy to switch from an acoustic sound to a jazz box or strat seamlessly.

Should have spent more time demoing the piezo side of the guitar, I think most people by now know what a guitar with split coil humbuckers sounds like. I built my own hybred and It has a much better acoustic sound than that one.

I understand that the main concept of the guitar is semi-hollow electric guitar with piezo. I'm just wondering since it has piezo and hollow body, It would be great if I can record the piezo and combined with microphone in front of this guitar to pickup the attack.

I play a '55 series MK and it is mucho better than the fender Tele, both sonically and play ability.

i found it's kind of a trade mark sound with fishman. i love the taylor expression systems. i have a t5 s1 and the cleans are awesome.

The Taylor TZ5 is more expensive, but nowhere near as good as the Michael Kelly Hybrid Special.

the t5 is all about the expression system and extreme ease of playing. i just love mine. i have the t5 s1. my other hybrid is a real jack of all trades it's an ibanez the montage 550,
