It has reached my home and i explained to my daughter she is going through puberty and having all types of crazy feelings her self esteem was low so she wanted to be a boy and her friends were encouraging her to believe she is actually a boy. It was hard to do but i sat her down an explained to her the facts of biology and told her how much i love her and how awesome she is and its ok to be masculine and be a girl there is nothing wrong with it. You don't have to identify as a different gender to be yourself. I explained to her god made you unique and smart, her hormones are just making her feel new things because they are going crazy because of puberty. She was upset with me at first but by the end of this conversation we were laughing and we hugged and told me she loved me. I told her i didn't deny what she was feeling but i educated her on facts and now she is embracing being a tomboy because being a female that has masculine qualities and tendencies is ok, but she understands that she is female and that will never change.

Bless you for having this conversation with your daughter and also thank you for sharing it with us all here. I know from my own experience how turbulent teenage years are, and specifically for girls, how incredibly alone and unimportant and unseen you can feel, when you're "that other one". What would be your best advice for parents facing similar situations, who ought to be encouraged to have that conversation as you have done with your daughter?

So so impressed and happy when I hear there are people who think like this still. Having "boy-ish" interests doesn't mean you're born in the "wrong body" or aren't straight anymore. You can love these things and still be a very straight and happy female.

I was a ‘tomboy’, but it was because i felt i wasn’t pretty enough to be girly. so i leaned hard into the opposite and pretended i didn’t care, to compensate. and a lot of it was internalised misogyny. i thought girly things were stupid and cringe because that was how people thought. but i ended up hating the niche of ‘funny tomboy’ i made for myself. if meant nobody else saw me as a girl either. fast forward a few years, and i realised how much i loved being a girl, how much joy i took in feminine things like makeup and haircare. if i had been met with ‘maybe you aren’t a girl’ from people instead of just ‘you’re a tomboy’ i could have easily have been pushed down a horrible difficult path and never confronted the side of myself that wanted to be feminine and a Girl with a capital G but was just too scared.

Non-binary is a "marginalized" group that is a "gender identity" on par with being trans. It is included in the LGBT..... His point is that there are people taking advantage, and using this as and opportunity to promote themselves, at the expense of others. And that there are groups (non binary, and such) that are no risk, and no commitment, while kids are having irreversible surgeries, and will suffer the consequences for the rest of their lives, because a pop star wanted to sell a couple of records. I think that's the gist of it, anyway.

You’re ovaries produce estrogen and progesterone so removing them means you immediately go into menopause. This can include hot flashes, vaginal dryness, depression, anxiety, mood swings, weight gain, hair loss, and trouble sleeping. It also of course makes it impossible to become pregnant. But if you wanted your fallopian tubes removed you could do that without so many negative effects. It’s still major surgery and requires 6-8 weeks of healing time but it is an effect method of permanent birth control.

The non-binary people now say that they transgender too (which is so disrespectful to trans people). She doesn't needs to be non-binary. The definition of it is just someone ,who doesn't fit in the social stereotyps of man and women. It isn't a third gender non-binary is something social. You can choose to accept it or not ,because the non-binary people choose to be non-binary .Unliked someone ,who is gay . She did it for money after all her music flopped, so she needed to create attention .Now that her music is doing better and she is working with other people, she doesn't need it anymore.

I watched a transgender documentary about children it was very scary. I remember one girl was very similar to me, wanted to be a boy, acted like her older brother , rejected all "pink" things, etc. I'm now an adult and if my mum transition me based on my behaviour as a child, it would've ruin my life.
@y0utuberculosis
@y0utuberculosis Жыл бұрын
Your parents did exactly what trans kids parents do- allowed them to wear and act and be called what they want. And many kids like you will decide it's not for them and go back, and some won't. Kids are not given permanent surgery or hormones until they're old enough to make the decision (except in very rare cases where they are a severe risk to suicide). Don't act like what's right for you is right for every kid, because that's how kids end up dead.

@@y0utuberculosis sorry, I didn't make it clear in the original comment. In the documentary it was pushing to start hormone therapy before to puberty started, with the youngest being 8 years ago. That was the scary part, these children haven't figured much out in life and their partner are pushing for radical treatment. - and they weren't suicidal. When I was younger, me rejecting girl things, was because I wanted to be like my brother because I admired him so much. I think it's common for some siblings to copy an older sibling, especially when there's a large age gap.

When I was 8 I wanted to be a boy because the boys in the school stopped playing football with me because I’m a girl. I’m 27 now and a very feminine straight female. If my mom listened to me and let me transition I would of died by suicide by now. I love being a woman and wouldn’t change it for the world. People say it’s not just a faze but it was for me. I wanted to be a boy for about 6 months then I got over it and never thought about it again.

8 year olds don’t transition in any permanent way. It’s entirely reversible if you let them dress a certain way or be called a new name for a while but you can’t reverse the negative effects that will come if they want that and you say no.

That makes sense but I feel like it's different with some people like people the want never goes away. And no one is doing surgery on children with a brain and children have been using hormone blockers for centuries cuz like there's a thing called premature puberty or whatever where children get puberty before they're supposed to and they get put on hormone blockers... and they know the symptoms and the possible side effects at this point and they are true still choosing to do it like come on

A lot of this is hugely down to the mental health diagnosis that Demi has. Unmanaged and without the appropriate support, the spiralling is very likely to continue. I think it really depends on the situation and there are definitely levels to this, those trapped by this confusing idealism are mostly pubescent teens trying to figure out who they are, but after that period, in some few cases, the need to change is real and will never go away.. It really depends on what will make them happy and comfortable in their 20s, 30s and the last half of their lives.. some of these trans people got to decide at some point or they otherwise risk being depressed until they grow old..

I believe most of us girls had this period where we felt more like a boy than a girl. When I was younger, I would always want to be a boy because I thought life would be easier. But having restricted and unbothered parents made me analyse things differently and just said to myself that i’m different than other girls. Even today I have it hard because I don’t really match with women as I click with guys. It might be because of my personality or because I haven’t met my type of friends yet. One thing is for sure, I don’t hate being female, I just have a different personality than most women

This is very true. When we were small I can remember we had girls who wants to look like boys specially people who play sports. And it was a girls’ school. So sometimes some girls Dress like boys.. cut hair like boys. But now they are grown up women, happily married. That’s how it is. When we grow up we want to check everything out there. That doesn’t mean you are going to do a permanent damage to yourself and your body. When you are young you are confused, you are getting to know yourself, about society, about your body. That’s what growing up is all about. But now?? Kids can decide what they want to do at very little age. Parents no longer have the control. It’s the government has the control even though parents give birth and take care of them. Specially the teachers and elders are brainwashing children so they grow up to believe certain things which are very wrong.

I told my family and my close friends I thought I was gender fluid cause someone told me I was due to showing "characteristics" of not being "cisgender" (aka a real woman), I am tomboyish some days and feminine on others, but apparently that is not allowed anymore without having to change your entire identity, so you try to convince you you are now trans and you try to convince other people as well, the more you say it out loud the easier it is to start believing it and accepting it, but I knew deep down something was wrong. I went to therapy, turns out I was having an existential crisis because I was afraid of the reality women have to go through. I didn't want to face the reality of being a woman, I was scared of being one, I didn't want to feel unsafe, or associated the idea of being a woman with something negative, clearly I was being misogynistic with myself which is insane. I was 17 and I'm now 20, and I absolutely love being a woman

Idk about boys but as a girl i wanted to be a boy for so many reasons to play with my older brother (it looked more fun), to go out more freely (my parents were more worried about me than my brother), in teenage years i wore boys clothing for some time bcs i got hit on by older men which scared me. then i grew up and that faze went away bcs i enjoy my being myself &men seemed a lot less scary . A lot of girls i know were the same, wanting the benefit of being a boy but then u grow up and i understand u can have as much fun &be safe as a boy while being a girl. That being said tell a child u can change gender which they will not understand thats a life long choice and that child is about to hate u for the rest of their life, when they decide they dont wanna be anything else besides that which they were born to be. Let them grow up and decide then.

The biggest problem is denying children bc people underestimate how well children know themselves. let them at least socially transition rather than letting them suffer silently. social transitioning isn’t damaging… like at all. and then when they are older they will be able to tell. Being trans isn’t a faze and not is it easy to just transition.

When asked a question “what state is Utah in” the girl answered “what’s Utah?” personally I think it’s from being on a cell phone 24/7, not having to know anything cause it’s on the phone plus tiktok. My kid claims to be transexual, but I told her (and biologically SHE is a HER tho I do try to be respectful) and I told her that that is fine, I love and support you no matter what BUT, I will not pay for any life altering surgeries or meds, if that is how you still feel when you're 18 and an adult, YOU can do whatever you want but I will not be responsible for life altering choices you make as a child that you regret and can't take back as an adult. Like it or not y'all, these are adult revelations that require adult minds to figure out. A child simply does not have the cognitive capacity to realize the long term consequences that these choices have. The reason I do things this way is because I know the swishifying effect media has on kids and am almost 100% positive that she will not feel the same after puberty has run it's course and of she does, well then, she'll be an adult and can make her own choices based on how she feels and that being the case, more power to her and I will still love and support her no matter what.

But when you hit puberty, there was unseen wall between girl and boys and I no longer feel fit in with the boys, and need to learn have girl friends.. I hated that period of time..but thank god that period of time is nothing like now with all those gender identity.. So I grow up and now among my friends I'm the most feminine one, love to style my hair, love to wear skirts..but my tomboyish character is still within me, as I don't afraid to have dirty work, and still able to just put on my jeans, tie my hair and get things done physically...

We are seeing more people come out as trans because they feel safer and more supported in society at this time. Do you know how hard it is, the hoops you need to jump through and the amount of steps there are to get hormones or surgery? First of all children aren't getting surgeries. Second of all in order to get hormone blockers, surgeries or more, you need to see two psychologists, as well as, your general practitioner talking with you, educating you about these things. You can't go and get it like a new pair of flared pants and the fact that y'all think so or are commenting affirming something similar is scary and worrying.

I feel like if kids say that they are trans, that the parents should support them, let them dress how they want to and take them to a therapist or something in that area so they can really discover if it is something serious or it’s being mistaken by another thing. Just my opinion, hope u have a good day/nigth!

Being a trans kid isnt a mad dash to mutilate them as fast as possible. Social transitioning and figuring out ones own identity is such a massive part of the process. More than anything, trans people want to be understood as people first and trans second. Ethical medicine does the best it can to give people the highest quality of life. We have tested and evaluated every treatment we give to people with careful consideration. Trans people have incredibly high suffering and suicide rates so it's in our best interest to treat them. I dont know exactly what studies or events you are referring to when you cite all the horrible things happening to trans children, but I can assure you that surgery on minors is very rare and almost no reputable surgeon would do that. Tranistioning is a long process of slightly altering natural development, its complicated and surgery is usually the last steps. And for the drugs and hormones (I'm going to assume this is about puberty blockers) that are causing all of these other problems, the human body is very complicated and our understanding of it is limited, sometimes medications have unforseen side effects. Now that we know this is happening, it can be taken into account when making decisions about someones transition path options.

Ok, so no. There is little to no test on regards of hormone blockers and its effects on kids that actually don't need it. The only research we have in what those meds do in a body with an issue that needs such drugs. Hormone blockers are harmful for a developping body, I know it, you know it, everyone knows it.

Do you really need to ask? Let's see. Eating meat is racist. It's fine to take children to sex shows. It's ok to pay some "health" provider to butcher your minor children. They can't define what a woman is but swear men can bear children and "chestfeed." It's fine to put grammar through a gender blender to create mystery pronouns. I'd say some adults can be willfully and horrifically stupid. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤮🤮💀💀

You need to distinguish between what doctors are prescribing puberty blockers for: there is a benefit to a puberty blocker for a 10 year old who has started puberty as opposed to a 10 year old who wants to transition - or is told by a parent to transition.

I’m sure they are informed about the possible health complications that will follow doing any kind of procedure as such. It’s their decision whether or not they want to proceed with that if they’re of age, if they are not of age then it’s up to the parents to figure it out on the child’s behalf.

I genuinely dont think it was a pr stunt from demi. She "came out" not long after nearly dying from an overdose i think she just mentally wasnt quite there and latched on to it to gain some sort of answer for why she wasnt quite right? If that makes sense.

but if you can find something, even just a label that makes you feel human and connected then why is that wrong? what affect does me calling my former sister my brother harm?

Okay so one small problem with your defending Demi in this way- this whole clip is based around Demi now going by they/them pronouns. You said she. This is why everyone is confused, even you while defending “they/them”.

That was the man’s point to make. It doesn’t really matter why Demi no longer wants to be called she, what matters is that to her the implications are far less damaging than tue children he is referring to here.

As a parent it’s not so funny when you realize how easily it could be your kid having these life altering decisions pushed on them by other adults when you’re not around. It reinforces that I need to parent for the preteen / teen / adult i want my kids to become. Remembering to not get caught up in the younger years when you can easily dismiss their feelings and thoughts.
