That's a valid point. There's far too many parents wanting to be their children's friend rather than their parent. And this is greatly exacerbated by the increase in single-mother ""families"". The evolved "maternal instincts" tie strongly into the Big 5 Traits of Agreeableness and Neuroticism. The former is the sacrificing peacemaker (you need to sacrifice and keep the peace around a fragile baby). The latter is sensitivity to negative emotion and you really need that around a baby who cannot articulate what is wrong. (It's also what produces the stat of women being more at risk from depression and anxiety disorders). Without a complimentary parent in the mix (low in Trait-Agreeableness and Trait-Neurosity), the allegorical "apron-strings" tend not to be cut until perhaps . . . age 40 when they decide to get the heck out mom's basement!

@wu chi I don't think anyone believes that everyone who goes to college is stupid, what people are starting to realize is that having a degree from a university doesn't automatically mean that person is smart. Many of these liberal arts majors couldn't fix a leaking faucet, flat tire, or bad light switch in their home, but for some reason look down on the people they pay hundreds of dollars to in order to have those issues fixed. They don't seem to realize that in many cases they are the ignorant person in the room and are paying exorbitant rates to someone who didn't go to college because they can't figure out how to basic plumbing works or which way to twist a nut to get it loose or tight. Tim Pool is a talking head who has an audience that has made him very wealthy. Are you wealthy? If not how much smarter are you than Tim Pool, who is by your own estimation a dopey junior high school drop-out? Perspective goes a long way.

Chances are at least some of their professors are encouraging their anti-debate, intolerant, pro-identity political behavior and therefore I heavily encourage parents willing to pay that much to invest some time in vetting the professors beyond their credentials.
