About what you would expect from Lombardi. The question that needed to be asked was did Bill leave anywhere close to enough talent for Mayo to succeed. And how would you grade Bill’s draft selections?

Trust me: Mayo fooled Kraft - fooling the interviewer is something to guard against. I've no dog in this fight - lifelong Pats fan, and don't want our (yes OUR) team to fail. Mayo is now in the 'uh oh I can't hide it anymore' stage if he has any clue.....so now, if the Krafts have any clue, they need to do 2 things: 1 - how to salvage this decision and Mayo (and really, this is a false choice because logically, Mayo has lost his integrity with you by pretending to be what he is not - thus cannot be trusted) or 2 - cut/replace with a proven winner, like a Vrabel or Flores, who are no-brainer's to keep the defensive scheme in place and def live with the rookie QB and undobutedly AVP - who by all accounts is like by every staff he's been on. Lombardi is partially wrong - Mayo has known for YEARS he is getting this job, and clearly did not learn, plan, develop - he needs to coaches to do the job.....and wants to manage the coaches. Then, what is Mayo for? Mayo deceived Kraft, and Kraft SHOULD call BS on Mayo -

Jerid Mayo as the head coach Salahs comes in to run the degense. If not let Mayo walk, and bring in Vrabrel. However I think Alex Van Pelt has to stay. The guy has improved this offense dramatically. Especially with that offensive line the way it is. I only see the offense improving. Its the defense that needs the help!! Vrabrel is a Defensive minded coach. I think that would work wonders

But people claim he designed the defense, and he was the defensive coordinator. This guy hasn’t done anything but be along for the free ride. You knew he was the next coach 7 years ago with absolutely no experience is insane. You can say Bill drafted poorly all you want but the fact is we aren’t better without him. As I’ve said before if you’re nut happy with the draft strategy and free agent signings, then take the power away from him. Let him coach the team and allow the new GM to sure acquire talent. If Bill doesn’t want to do that then by all means part ways. That’s how this should’ve ended up.
