Techno is still played at 130+ bpm's by techno dj's,but a lot of DJ's sounds are evolving and moving towards house. Michael doesn't consider himself to be a techno dj anymore(he says that he's too old). Larkin,Saunderson,and Robert Hood all play Techno,that's hard and funky at the same time. DJ's are now combining sounds to make the musical journey diverse and pleasant. The sweet spot today is between 125-130BPM's. In that range,you can play almost everything.

I had the pleasure of opening for him last summer in France and yes the man in a real DJ,in fact,he's one helluva DJ. He plays with a four deck set-up,2 turntables and 2CDJ's And he definitely has more talent than the guy who is trying to diss him. Not only is he a great DJ/Producer,he's a really nice guy. Ben Klock on the other hand,is another story,lol.

Techno is much slower than it used to be. Its BPMs used to separate it from House. It's a shame really. I think it's cos all the kids who go to raves take Ketamine and want to listen to slow music whereas they used to take MDMA and want to listen to more banging music. Even house itself is much slower than it used to be and some of it sounds like disco
