Another area I just found out about, which you don't see being reported, is the number of electric vehicles China is supposedly selling. The information I've read stated China is forcing EV owners to turn their cars in after 2 or 3 years, then they have to get the next model themselves to replace them. There are thousands of nearly new EV's sitting in fields in China, just rotting away. It's all propaganda to make them look like the leader in EV sales. Just like everything else, it's all about the money.

Solar panels & wind turbines have always been immensely cleaner than fuels. They’re made of steel, glass, aluminum, silicon, copper, a tiny bit of silver & lead, which is all recovered & reused. They use less land than fuels. They pay back the energy, carbon, & other pollution costs of construction in a few months to 2½ years, & produce virtually pollution-free power for decades, until they, like batteries, are essentially 100% recycled, making subsequent generations of renewable generation even more safe, healthy, ecological, cheap. (The lead & other heavy metals, most-deadly PM2.5 particulates, released by burning fossil fuels are scattered everywhere into air, water, soil, bodies, & minds, causing death & destruction wherever they go. Mark Hemsworth it isn't about which form of energy is cheaper, the fact is solar is not green due to the sheer amount of mining and coal burning needed to create the infrastructure for it. Your article details a plant that can power the equivalent of a small US town. If we look early in the docu and see the solar array that purportedly could only run about ten US homes, the scale of the one in India would have to be massive. Extrapolate that to running a country or the world? Impossible. Population and energy usage reduction are the most realistic solutions i think.

There are apps that tell you if palm oil is in your products (mostly soaps and creams) and whether they are from protected areas or not. Here in Germany I uninstalled those apps soon after moving here, because there isn't a single product on shelves in supermarkets here today that doesn't have SOME form of palm oil in it. I cut back on showering and shampooing (1-2x week!) and save water/energy, too. If the rest of the world wants American luxury living standards... the planet will become a desert in less than 50 years! We all have to consider what and why we use/waste as much as we do!

I had a very vivid dream, by vivid I remembered colors, details, and I wasn’t rushed, I contemplated the scene and even thought I’m dreaming but kept observing. What I was observing was a new species of human, the environment that they lived the structures they lived in and their anatomy. The environment was a sandy estuary type creek running though a settlement of small huts. Plant life was very basic, around the creek edges grew a bit of a grassy verge a few gnarly trees spread far and wide and no other plant life. People were collecting water from the creek. The beings were small slim and looked quite tired and under nourished. They were all wearing very drab tunics and then as I looked closely at a male who walked past me I noticed that he had grass like hair and his body hair was like mycelium. It was very hot, the environment looked like it was basically scorched. These people were not eating, they had nothing to eat. They were photosynthesising. Somehow this tribe had been genetically modified to photosynthesise. They were slightly plant like. The thing I remember was how basic, their lives were, how weak they were and how poor the environment was. It was like everything else had died of heat except these beings who could water themselves and gained all their nutrition from the burning sun.

I've been saying for years we need to invest in energy storage R&D. There are methods available, but it needs out-of-the-box thinking. For example, at a household level, in Africa they use a simple gravity storage system for lights (similar to winding up an old-fashioned grandfather clock). At a neighbourhood level, there's gravity storage (see Wikipedia for detail). At a country-wide level there's building hydro-power two-level dams, that pump the water up when the sun is shining/wind is blowing and use it to run hydro-electric when it's not. A Canadian firm is using renewables & electrolysis to convert CO2 into airplane fuel. HOWEVER, there is an up-front energy cost to build these, for a net lowering of energy in the long term. Also, as the film points out, these processes need to be cleaner too. Make the steel and cement as intermittent processes (which requires a new design, or local energy storage). Ideally we would reduce our energy consumption first - insulate our homes, build cities where work, leisure and home are within walking distance (with pavements - something I noticed was sorely missing in the US when, as a non-car driver I tried to walk to the local store from my mother-in-law's house!). This needs to start with those who have the top 10% of wealth - they currently consume over 50% of the world's energy, more than the whole of the under-developed world.

I don't think we'll ever run out of coal and oil. I have seen in my 60+ yrs both being used cleaner and more efficiently , who knows how much 'better' it could get. That being said, I'd love to see the 'electricity' that's all around us being utilized as well as a safer nuclear type of power and phasing out both coal and oil/gas. I realize that it is unlikely that governments will pass a tax on the rich to pay for voluntary sterilization, and you may not be able to contribute, or participate in a nonprofit that funds voluntary sterilization. However, you can discuss with others whether it is ethical to bring a child onto a planet, in the midst of. Global industrial, and ecological collapse. We can talk about the ways that we can mitigate suffering, or people can stay silent, remain ignorant, live in denial, continue to celebrate procreation, and contribute to the suffering. We have pisspoor public transport, train really is no option, and in the north there is no railway. This is one of the big issues for the left who wants to kill oil. Few buslines, not an option as a commute for people who do not work in the cities. And included in the spainflight was a domestic flight to oslo. And sweden is better and cheaper on public transport, has lower CO2 emissions pr capita than we do. And Finland has been doing good financially the last 50 years, they have had the ability to go green. And the land of the thousand lakes have vast potential for hydropower, which is liquid gold. But they choose to conserve their nature. Also, norway and sweden are on the same power market, we import export to eachother. We produce 105% of the energy we consume in green energy. So a portion of the energy sweden consume comes from us, which helps their CO2 footprint.

Should not focus to much on that, when it is so scarcely populated, and the nature is so nice, with clean air and clean water. Sure, oil was a blessing in the past, because we were one of the poorest countries in Europe. kind of a curse too. When mismanaged policies, the living expences skyrocket. So with a housingmarket that doubles in price each decade, because of lack of building, peoples expences grow more than the wages when you get 4% yearly increase. Public employees usually get that. People are drowning in debt then, and we are just about highest in the west in personal debt. Also, with such wages in the public sector and it employs 1/3, we are really just burning the money. Roads are terrible, and have not found funds to do infrastructure because of this. When a strip of road costs 10 times what it cost to do it ten years prior, you can never catch up. And healthcare and other public buildings are crumbling. Hospitals has to choose between maintenence of buildiings, new machinery, and care. So not as rosey as it seems. When the government take it for granted and not a buffer, you get hit hard when oilprices halves and you steer to break even with peak oil and highest oilprices ever. Like we had in 2006. Then we got the crack, oilproduction was lowered, and prices went down the drain. We got hit hard. And that is a thing to think about, each time we have a financial crises in the world, we seem to be hit the hardest because of oil. Financially instable to have a volitale sector be so dominant. And it is partly due to the oil, that our labourparty has chased most industry out of our country, so bit of a curse. High taxes has made it cheaper to move to sweden and produce, then export back to us. Or to denmark, it is crazy to buy traditional norwegian food, and it says made in sweden or denmark. Like norwegian fish, they ship it to denmark, then process it and sgips it back. How is that good for the emissions? That has to be done because our silly labourgovernment signed a tradedeal with EU, where we can only export raw fish to them without high tariffs. Cannot put it in tomatosauce in a can or smoke it here and export. So the processingplants moved to denmark.

Though GM started to get back in the game, they're quitting again because of weak sales. The real issue is that technology is rapidly advancing, such that the newer electric cars have greater distance capability. Sweden is building an electric highway system so electrics can charge while driving, thus needing less batteries, decreasing the car's overall weight. New electrics with older tech, don't sell! A report this month shows Germany's emissions hit a 70 year low as it reduces reliance on coal in 2023. Some countries, the US included, are dragging their feet. It is certainly sad about those orangutans and what is also sad is the paradox here. I think the documentary accurately identified the issue at the heart of it all, humans fear and inability to face the reality of mortality. So how do the authors finish the film? They conclude it by tapping into that same fear and thus enable the disgust of death to continue. Perhaps that paradox is necessary. After watching this documentary by Moore, who I don't really like because he is also quite hypocritical at times (though thanks for making it freely available) is that the solution is fairly straight forward but capitalism in particular will not like it. What is that solution? Reduce consumption, stop wasting energy, plant forrests and reduce the human population through a one child policy. At least we can experience parenthood this way which might be better than a debatable alternative. I wonder for example if that alternative will be the corona virus vaccine. Is it's goal not vaccinate against a manufactured epidemic, but really to be the method of sterilizing the human population.

We have a 2017 volt We love it. Our solar panels charge it and the gas engine gets 40 plus mpg but we rarely use it on gas

People just don't want to hear about it, don't really believe it, and that was my point. The number one thing that any one person can do to address the worldwide poly crisis is to support a voluntary reduction of the human population. We need a 25% ecological footprint tax for the richest 1% of the world to hire the appropriate medical staff, and set up mobile units that could go to communities around the world, paying people to get sterilized. Organizations, such as the nonprofit #WorldVasectomyDayWouldBeIdeal. When considering, renewable energy options to mitigate the suffering caused by our predicament… Don’t believe the bright green lies! There is nothing renewable about so-called “renewable energy“. Energy powers ecological devastation independent of its source. If human beings actually had an endless source of free clean green energy… Which does not exist it would only fuel the acceleration of the destruction of the biosphere. Deforestation, ocean depletion, habitat loss, desertification, biodiversity loss, soil degradation, groundwater depletion, global warming, overpopulation, rampant pollution, and the six mass extinction would all continue to accelerate. This is not a supply problem… It’s a demand problem! Fewer humans equals less suffering for all life on earth! We really need to promote government and nonprofit funded vasectomies and tubal ligations. I realize that it is unlikely that governments will pass a tax on the rich to pay for voluntary sterilization, and you may not be able to contribute, or participate in a nonprofit that funds voluntary sterilization. However, you can discuss with others whether it is ethical to bring a child onto a planet, in the midst of. Global industrial, and ecological collapse. We can talk about the ways that we can mitigate suffering, or people can stay silent, remain ignorant, live in denial, continue to celebrate procreation, and contribute to the suffering. We can either reduce our population by choice… Or we can let nature do it in her unmerciful way… it’s biology 101… A life that is never brought into existence, is a life that will not have to suffer the unequivocal impending collapse.
