His last name is pronounced as PA-NGEE-LEE-NAN. Met him once during one of his shows, really awesome guy. I only have respect for this dude, not only is he an awesome singer, he is also a loving and dedicated father to his kid (no wife, just a baby-momma), and he faced all of his past controversies with courage and owned up all his past mistakes. He's a good friend of Morissette, some even ship them together (I personally think they look good together, lol)

Good Effort... The problem is Westeners have a problem pronouncing "NG" by merely reading it. I found it effective if they hear how "NG" is pronounced. :)

Exactly my point. They will still pronounce the "G" in NG. Try making them say BANGO and it will sound like a rhyme to MANGO or TANGLAD with your TANGLED. They will still pronounce a hard G unless they hear how NG is supposed to be pronounced. And don't get me started on how with double letters eg.: Totoo, Aangat. Josh still has trouble (but in a good way) pronouncing MANOOD. It can be traced back to the basic alphabet. The modern western alphabet has 26 letters. The Spaniards has 29. OUR MODERN Alpabetong Filipino has 28 letters from a previous of only 20 in the old Abakada. The adapted official inclusions, since we commonly use them anyway are: C, F, J, Ñ, Q, V, X, Z. :)

The thing with PH is that when a song and/or artist hits big in the country, they last for a _very_ long time - for a decade, to possibly a century - which kinda explains why music from the 90s and older are still well-known here in PH. In the US... well, I've never been there and/or actually familiar with their culture, but it's very noticeable how music there literally comes and goes. It's almost like nothing lasts there and whether you hit big or not, it's still possible to vanish from everyone's attention and memories. US just advances fast, especially compared to Philippines, but that doesn't mean one of the two are more ignorant than the other because they both are. US is more ignorant of the past and simplicity while PH is more ignorant of the latest technology and luxury. Ah, sorry for the long response....

Brian McKnight wasn't really a lightweight. apart from his hits, he did have a lot of Grammy nominations. but i get what you all are saying. times are different now. Bieber, Grande, Swift, 1D and Little Mix rule the world of today. McKnight and his contemporaries are now classics. on a side note: it's funny though that a lot of the reactors think Mariah is the original singer of Against All Odds and I Want To Know What Love Is. I'm sure that Phil Collins and Foreigner are going to be awkwardly drinking their coffee if they chance upon it. 😂 also, i find it perplexing why some of them as well find it hard to pronounce Morissette Amon's first name. Alanis won't be too happy that some people don't know how to say her last name. 😂😂

He also interpreted a song for a song writing contest here in the PH titled "Pare, Mahal mo raw ako" its a song about a guy secretly inlove with a guy friend. i cant translate it into english but youll get it once you watch the video. plus his voice is amazing.
