I have recently brought some equine clippers and had not got a clue how to introduce them to my 3yr old. I watched your training video and it has worked. I started to get him associated with my hand stroking him as I moved the clippers switched on around him. I didn’t tie him up to not create any pressure. I switched them off and backed away. I did this a few times and he started to move towards the clippers. Then suddenly 3 days in he accepted them and allowed me to clip under his chin. Next day I clipped more. Yesterday I clipped his chest and today I have clipped under his belly and the back of his legs. I am so happy and most of all he was happy and is now relaxed. Thank you very much 😊

i need to do this!! thankyou for sharing your technique! my highland had a bad past, including being burn't by clippers ect,and if he see's the clippers let alone hears them,he rears,tanks..ANYTHING! will do anything to get away from them! ive always wanted to clip him,but he's afraid of needles, and the vet! :/ so sedation isn't on our list haha the gel sedation doesn't work on him either! so will try this, and i hope the result will be good :) thankyou!

I found the demonstration very convincing, but some of the words used as explanation little less so - I understand that it is an old video and might not be what Michael would say today. The reward/punish approach is part of the (still prevalent) traditional master’s discourse, but I don’t think it has anything to do with what Michael Peace is doing. I think that Michael Peace is mobilising the analyst’s discourse, even if he doesn’t realise it. Michael gives the horse time to think and decide. I like this approach not least because it works without either giving the human too much enjoyment or costing the horse too much from its body.

Where did you get your battery pack from and what brand is it? I’ve been looking for one and am not having any luck.

Dangerous to hold the rope in a loop. An example is at 3:25 - 3:27 the loop pulls tight on your hand. If that horse really did take off, then you could get hung up.
