After failing E3 in CIMA for the fourth time I am looking for a new approach so I decided to go straight to the man himself. This is a brilliant lecture. I love the way he speaks in a very simple manner. Thanks Michael.

Why does nobody here in the comments question his ideological project? I don't say pro or con but I think any person with power should be questioned. To give an example he says at 02:55 in the video, that economic development has change and that it has failed as a government driven process. I think there is a good reason to question such a statement, since the world is overall is driven more by economic forces than ever before, which actually implies less political power of government.

Why should he? Many big companies has used his theory with great success. Why did his company fail? Was it due to strategy or something else? What are you trying to achieve with your comment? Porter is one of very few academics who actually knows what he is talking about. You have no idea how poorly his views are conveyed by many professors and academics. He has a good grasp on reality, and if you don't care to listen to him that is definitely your loss. The man is a genious.
