I see what you did there Mr Lee, very good. I remember going to watch Michael downstairs at some pub in North London during the 80s (I think it was the 80s lol) and Michael had me in absolute fits of laughter. I do remember chatting to him after, bought him a pint as one should, lovely bloke. Very quiet and unassuming. I also recall to my great delight, seeing Michael on the tv a couple of weeks later on the C4 Friday Night Live. I kept yelling at the family, “That's him! That's yer man!” My ma being an Irish woman herself (as was pa) declared he was now her favourite Irish comedian after Dave Allen, of course, a very high accolade. Thanks for the happy memories. Now I must go and see if he's still performing.

I love the way the smart-arsed heckler at the start of the act realises he's just not up to 'topping' the jokes, because he's just a sad studenty twat with a braying voice and that's it - and after two minutes MR can dare to leave long pauses, because the audience don't know where the joke's going, and are concentrating on his words, and thus forget to try to be funnier than him in front of all their mates.
