Thank you a lot for your wisdom, Michael! My KPI is recurring revenue (MRR) and I broke it into two parts: 1) # of Customers, and 2) Average Monthly Revenue per Customer. Then I brainstormed projects around those 2 main verticals of work and my goal is to double my MRR in the next six months (till the end of the year).

I hope commenting gets KZbin to recommend this video to me in the future. As usual, Michael is considerate of our time and helps break down the many-many-variable-problem that is startup success

Pretty sure Airbnb's north star metric/primary KPI is nights booked? While that obviously correlates fairly directly to revenue, any thoughts?

Can a startup also focus on profitability over revenue growth especially to keep the light on when still reaching out to investors
@unuakhe4 жыл бұрын
Hey man, profit is not a metric to prioritize as an early stage startup.
@adedayoadeniran4 жыл бұрын
@@unuakhe Thanks, I understand and it is not that the profit is that much but, focusing on revenue growth it is a bit costly and we need to keep running till we get a seed investment. That is why we are maintaining customers and putting effort into organic acquisition
@davidalbers56864 жыл бұрын
@@adedayoadeniran As are all things, it's a balancing act. You obviously know more about your business and it's your call what the "right" thing is. Generally speaking, startups are called startups because of growth. If you're not growing rapidly it's a good business but not necessarily a startup. Focus on making your customers happy and iterating towards PMF. Generally paid growth is not the most sustainable source of growth.
@adedayoadeniran4 жыл бұрын
@@davidalbers5686 Thanks, I understand your points. That is also why we are looking towards organic and more sticky growth outside paid, since there is profitable unit economics on stock just that organic doesn't provide more growth like paid does, which sometimes the growth is also profitable. But I know it is a PMF game
