I was thinking this while listening to him speak. The "woke" as they refer to, do not think or analyze for themselves, and to engage in a conversation with them is useless because their response is reciting a narrative that they remembered to be true. There is no changing their attitude. Common sense doesn't work. I showed a video by Zach of Wolves and Finance on youtube about the Civil Trial in New York regarding Trump. Zach explains it like he is talking to a 6th grade classroom, and the LEFT response was Plausible Deniability. The comments weren't intelligent but childish bullying responses such as, "I dont trust Conservatives," or "Zach is lying." The LEFT likes the "herd" mentality as it fits their big government will take care of you agenda. I read a book, "Cynical Theories" by James Lindsay about how Activist Scholarships made everything about Race, Gender and Identity. It starts out with postmodernism and explains how our younger generations have been conditioned. Unfortunately, Im not as optimistic as this speaker. This Marxist Socialism appears to be taking over our Country.

Don't be fooled. It appears Mr Shellenberger does the same thing as the people he criticises, ie. Cherry-pick data to mislead. The data presented on global CO2 emissions is misleading and the conclusions incorrect. He uses “Our World in Data” for UK, France and USA CO2 emissions, however, he uses a graph from “Zeke Hausfather” for global emissions. Firstly the “Zeke Hausfather” graph is depicting land use emissions whereas the “Our World in Data” graphs are CO2 emissions due to fossil fuels and industry, totally different. If you use “Our World in Data” for global emissions you will see that total emissions has not peaked but continues to rise. The reason global emissions continue to rise is because China, India and numerous other countries emissions continue to increase. I stopped watching after the book plug as I didn’t want to commit to fact checking everything else.

It shouldn't be framed simply as "racial division and strife" which means becoming aware of history and how the world operates is somehow bad. Certain people should and need to become critically aware of how the modern world has been formed, not just from a north American context. This is not something which is passing or a fad or part of a fleeting movement. This is the history of the planet and it should inform how the planet is "reformed" almost going forward. As always, the wet dream for particular people, and those who follow this man even if generally it is against their own people, is for there to be no races/no "other" people, that these people do not have a history, that they do and did not occupy the planet, if fact they do not exist, which is the actually complete opposite of what is actual truth an reality.

I am a nurse and worked with a nurse who died after her vaccine. She was beautiful and left three children. I had several blood transfusions due to severe anemia and refused the vaccine but was threatened with termination daily and had to get a medical excuse

I always advocated for my patients. It was the narcissism and power of the people I worked for that was disturbing. The patients were misguided by that and social media. The parents and clients were being "emotionally blackmailed." Speaking the truth was always a problem in that environment.

They make up logic to discredit the message and call it biased and racist. There should be more Mike Shellenbergers in this world. I was terminated at my last job for having the audacity to listen to this during my lunch break (-the vast majority of which I diligently worked through during the time I was with this 'company'). No verbal or written warning, just instant dismissal about 90 mins after I'd finished listening...by a VERY uncomfortable line-manager who offered up the lamest 'reason' possible, and a HR manager who seemed to get a genuine charge out of what was going down. Class act. The company is heavily woke-oriented and after my tenure there, I realised just how oppressive the atmosphere was; I felt like I had been released from a Gestapo jail or Stalin-era Soviet gulag. I'd NEVER expressed any non-woke views in any way, shape or form, but I guess the IT 'morality police' caught me. This is WOKE culture at work - totally unconcerned about who they target and quite happy to fuck with someone's livelihood, if that's what it takes to feel good about themselves and their bullshit agendas. Time to wake up people! This shit needs to be shut down before what's left of freedom of speech/thought/choice is lost forever. Came across this outstanding lecture after listening to several videos debating the cancellation and de-monetizing of Russell Brand. Most people I know personally, are still asleep. When I open a conversation with them they do not want to know. It’s frustrating and stresses me out so not doing it anymore. I wish I had the calm demeanor and eloquence of Michael S. This is one of the best presentations I think I've ever seen on KZbin! I only discovered the University of Austin, and Michael Shellenberger, a few weeks ago. As an ex-academic with a doctorate in philosophy I'm not using (mainstream academia being too corrupt for me; Shellenberger barely scratches the surface), I'd love to join them if they'd have me - sent an application just this month. This will mean moving back to the U.S., as I've been living in Chile for over a decade now, but paying close attention to affairs back home. The rise of Donald Trump should have been predictable; also the borderline-violent reaction to Trump which is continuing, and who knows where 2024 is going to take us? Shellenberg's presentation gives me hope that one way or another, Americans will survive this fight between those who want to consolidate money and power globally and dominate, versus those who just want to be left alone to pursue their private goals and dreams. Will be seeking out Shellenberger's writings, and will be learning from those who are building up the University of Austin, regardless of whether I have any future with them or not.
