Watson was a true champion in my eyes if he hadn't been hurt would of been world champion . Had harder opposition on the way . Shared a ring with Mike McCallum and showed a good account of himself didn't duck anyone . Was out of the limelight so underestimated but his class shone through. Also it was good to see James Cook in this documentary another underestimated fighter or avoided fighter . Anyway Michael Watson your a world champion of life all the best champ 🥊🥊👍

Michael Watson, was a incredible fighter and the most skilled middleweight of the time. I suppose it was the perfect storm of three styles. Watson - Boxer, Eubank - Prowler, Benn - Brawler. Astonishing time in boxing history and Eubank was simply NOT the Best. Michael Watson was.

@Scenescout555322 жыл бұрын
With all respect, I never thought there was enough of 'this is the boxer's game' in Watson's response (was there any at all?), so too much has been laid on Eubank. It's impossible to know what laid the groundwork for the injury. The last shot he took against McCollum, for example, was devastating.
@mrkipling2201 Жыл бұрын
I wondered that same thing myself. He took some bad punishment from McCallum, especially the barrage of punches that ended the fight. Its certainly possible that some damage was caused.

Michard Watson??? You mean Michael Watson 😏 Watson won the second fight still in my opinion even though it ended in tragedy. Watson's career as a boxer would've continued had it not ended in the Eubank rematch and before that punch he was winning the fight and would have beaten Eubank. The rematch was probably one of the best fights in boxing history but also one of the saddest unfortunately.

I know there is a certain ammount of skill involved in boxing but without a doubt eubank had three of the luckiest results i have ever seen the first and second watson fights and the benn rematch there is no way that was a draw just like he never won the first watson fight as watson said himself it was all about politics and money

@lukebullen7054 жыл бұрын
Watson the best of the bunch for me but could make an argument for Eubank being number one. Then I'd say Benn and lastly Collins. Collins was a tough fighter with good heart but his best wins were both against both Eubank and Benn when they were nearing the end of their careers and had been in brutal wars. Not to mention both weren't the same after the tragedies they had in the ring. All were fantastic fighters though and deserve their place in history.
@anthonymcken6050 Жыл бұрын
@@lukebullen705Well said. Collins was a lucky opportunist. He would have struggled to hang with them in their prime and he was gifted the first Eubanks fight.

Roy Jones Jr, Aaron Pryor, Joe Frazier, Rocky Marciano, Ken Norton, Archie Moore, Mike Tyson, Julio Cesar Chavez and tons of other boxers. Way more inspirational! Who the fuck is Michael Watson other than some relatively obscure British boxer who couldn't even beat Chris Eubank LMFAO?

SuperStrik9 Watson was a very good fighter, who came up short against McCallum (a true great), got robbed against Eubank in their first fight, and caught a killer blow in the 2nd. Not a great, but far more than you credit him for.
