Hey, Michael, so this was put in my recommended, and I'm absolutely overjoyed that I found your channel! My girlfriend's mother, my mother, and a few other people have mention the Police Academy movies that you starred in, and I love what you do. Now, regarding the question you asked in the beginning: Are the sounds preloaded, or are they loaded live. They are loaded live into the loopstation. There are 2 types of effects knobs on a loopstation: Input FX and Track FX. With Input FX, you can choose an effect, and when you record a sound, let's say a melody, then the chosen effect will overlay on the melody. And you will constantly hear that on a loop. With Track FX, that adds the effect to an already recorded track. Let's say that you recorded a melody, again, but used no Input FX. It's just your normal voice making the melody. But, when you press the button to change or add the effect, your normal voice will change to the effect you've chosen, as long as it is activated. You can activate and deactivate the effects literally at the push of a button. Hope this makes sense!

The sounds they make are made by them right on the stage, but they also have the editing presets that they have made before the performance in the loop machine. And they also edit some sounds one the stage, kind of the same way the midi keyboards work, if you will. And I also take this opportunity to make a shout out to you from Russia. They provide the machine with beatbox sounds, then use the effects capacity of the machine to alter the sounds into the loops you hear

Nope ,most them beat boxers with loop stations have most of their own sounds pre loaded to start off the battle.. Then add more as they go along ,if you look at Saro the 2017 Champion, he starts most his sets off with his beats/ sounds he pre loaded , then adds others during the set...The ones i only seen doing Live sets in a Battle on stage is So-So, Balance and NME..

@Matthew Valdovinos Really, I could be wrong on that myself, but battles I seen I seen opponents starting off their sets with sounds and beats from loop station without mic up to their mouths, then add extras..Maybe they're doing it off camera while others are doing their turn to have the set ready for next battle..But when I seen Saro on his live set on KZbin last week or two you can clearly see he had his stuff ready to go before using the mic on live stream..As he was finding his beats when asked what set will I do when asking his live commenters..You could be right..But need know by real beat Boxer that uses loop stations to address this..I'm just judging on what I can see ..

@@mr.b501 hi As an enthusiast, not a professional by any means; i am damn sure the versus stuff they do has no 'records'. Ofc they are choreographed, maybe live performances are different. Thats y the drops are extreme special knowing that everything is 3 min on the spot U can have a look at saro's billie jean. I believe that if u have a galaxy brain like that, u probably dont need to pre record anyways

Yeah,there are no sounds pre recorded,they record them during the time they have,otherwise it wouldn t make sense to have a timer if u have "extra time" before you actually start your round.

I just would to say how much of an influence you have been to not only me but to thousands of beatboxers around the world. It was an honor to meet you when you judged at the 2014 American Beatbox Championships. In fact, the only video on my channel is your Kung Fu overdub showcase! Since then, I involved myself in helping the beatbox community and working with HumanBeatboxDotCom. I also worked with SBX and did the judge’s camera for this battle. To answer some of your questions: no prerecorded material. They use the RC-505 Loopstation which has built in effects. This year, competitors were allowed to use a second device of their choice, but all sounds had to originate from the mic and loopstation. So-So’s Instagram @so_so_looper And the audio engineer for the event is “Sinjo” who does all the audio for Swissbeatbox. He is an incredible sound engineer and beatboxer. Im sure if you wanted to see how a profession beatbox audio engineer sounds, he would love to meet you. I am glad you are getting back to beatbox and doing these videos. SUBSCRIBED! We would love to hear about how you learned beatbox, the history through your eyes. Much of that time period is lost as many didn’t record and put the history online. We have heard stories from Dougie fresh, Rahzel and a few others, but they are few and hard to find.

I'm an older dude for KZbin and you can't believe how much the Police Academy movies was my thing as a Swedish kid learning English, re-watched them nonstop. In later years I'm real deep into stand-up comedy and one of my favorite comedians Dan Soder, who does voices, always talks about you as one of his influences so it all comes full circle. And now I'm watching you break down beatboxing which I just got into. I love that you're doing these reactions. The 1st time I remember someone making inhuman sounds was when you "lost the bleeps, you lost the sweeps, and you lost the creeps." What an honour seeing one of my biggest inspiration checking in on the current scene! All of the sounds are made with their vocals, but the loopstation that is used (RC-505) has lots of effects build in. I think no one really mastered the full range of this device yet, but that gives me alot of hope for the future :) I'm probably not the first one to request this one, but Thorsen vs MB14 was one of the first breaking points of loopstation battles, and after that came MB14 vs Saro. If you watch the battle getting setup instead of jumping in at the drops you start to understand the RC a bit better ^^ Looking forward to your vids sir! And its good to see you back at the scene :) ps: If you ever feel like being on the judgepanel would be fun, i have a feeling no one would disagree on that :x (not that im anywhere near deciding such thing :p) peace!
