Aang's only father figure was Gyatso. He lost everyone. Katara and Sokka were there since he woke up, since the very beginning of their journey. Katara said that she and Sokka were his family now. It's understandable that a kid who experienced the genocide of his entire people would be so afraid to never see them again. They're all he has.

A lot of people give Aang a hard time in this episode. Saying hiding the map was out of character for him, being a monk and all. But what a lot of people tend to forget is that...he's a kid.

You know people get mad about the conflict in this one. I think it is a good one to have in a kids show. It is a very relatable scenario for a play date or hang out to be interrupted by visiting family or out of town friends. There will be times when your friends are too busily with other people. It is easy to be jealous when your friends spend time with other people. So i like this episode for exploring that.

Good episode. I think a lot of people get overly mad at Aang for hiding the map when I think it’s understandable. Characters can make selfish decisions and you can tell he felt guilty and immediately regretted it. We know Aang doesn’t usually do things like this, and I think we can understand as the people who said they would be his family have an option to leave. I also think June is a cool character, and it’s nice to see Zuko and Iroh again after what feels like a long time. (I realize it’s only been 2 episodes, but they haven’t really hunted the gaang that much lately.)

Me personally, as famously said "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed." I understand Aang's feelings but keeping Katara and Sokka from finding their dad is not the way to go. He came around though so good for him on that.

I actually liked that, because it shows aang has feelings, like any 12 year old boy, and makes bad decisions. And I wasn’t mad, I understood how he felt, but I was frustrated a bit

I have ADHD, and I can say with a fair amount of confidence that Aang does not. However, had he been a school kid in the 90s, he would've been misdiagnosed with it. All energetic, extroverted boys got the ADHD label slapped on them, while the real patients--especially the introverted girls--struggled quietly in the corner and learned how to mask their symptoms. Not that I'm bitter or anything.

7:32 I feel like that in most major fight scenes, or in the invasion, war stuff. Because the whole point is sokka is like the comic relief, he’s so funny, but when faced with serious problems, he will solve them. And I guess they just wanted to make that change obvious

Man watching these videos have become such a comfort! Love watching you react to the series and making each tea! Makes me really tempted to get them for myself! I sometimes think Katara and Sokka were a little quick to leave Aang after finding out what he did. Their anger is justified of course but I always felt like they could've heard each other out first. Maybe I'm forgetting certain moments but from what I remember, I feel like they were a little quick to leave him.
