What a wonderful look back at what was perhaps my favourite game of my childhood. It always felt like such an impressive piece of tech to me as a kid. It was amazing to see some of the story and references behind it that I missed as a kid.

Incredible! Really fun video and love how you show how deep these references go! I thought I knew them all but you picked up on some little details I never caught. There are just a couple more I thought of, like the castle guards saying “Halt in the name of the king!” like the knight in Rabbit Hood. Would love to see you do the same for Time Busters sometime!

loved the video. The only references i think eluded you were daffy's outfit in downhill duck being inspired by the one he wore in duck amuck and the guard from the 1930s bearing a noticeable resemblance to gashouse gorilla from baseball bugs.

I did miss the Downhill Duck outfit! Well spotted!!! Funnily enough, for ages I was trying to think where I'd seen Bugs' winter outfit before but couldn't think where I'd seen it. I didn't actually think the guard was based on Gashouse Gorilla though. I know he's a boss in Bugs and Taz. Strangely, in the original draft of the script, I did mention the security guard as I figured he might be inspired by *a* character from the shorts but I wasn't certain if it was anyone specific. It wasn't really. It had no life system, and was pretty forgiving, compared to Crash and Spyro. A perfect first game for a kid

It wasn't hard, though i believe it was more difficult to understand what to do and how to proceed if you were young. Crash and spyro were easier in that aspect in my opinion.

16:50 this security guard looks like the guy in "knighty knight bugs" whose name in this cartoon is "Sir loin of beef", you can see him in the cartoon few seconds after the opening making that noise just like in the game after you hit him.

Dang, I barely remember a lot of the old episodes from the cartoon, from the references you've described. Heck, I didn't even know about that when I was a kid. Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf is tremendous. I recommend!! Also, I assume you've heard about the Final Space graphic novel in development. Here's hoping it does well and maybe the show will get picked up again.

Good game, but the ending sucks and the 100% ending just isn't worth it.
