How about just a "shuffle up" show where we get to watch that one player we have all came across when we just did not have the patience for whatever the hell they were doing. Let's just watch an hour of 7 pile, 50 cut, 80 racked shuffles done as loudly as humanly possible. Honestly that may get banned by KZbin for explicit content because nothing is hotter than sitting through an hour worth of shuffling and then revealing the mad shuffler's first hand with zero lands.

i would argue that dark depts is fine the problem is vampire hexmage which enables a turn 2 scoop / 3 turn win waiting one more turn with thespian stage, aka turn 3/4 is actually pretty standard for modern especially since both of those scenario assume you also get urborg into play, otherwise you are one mana/turn short of pulling this off

Pretty sure that for nobans it's okay to metagame, expect Depths to be one of the stronger decks and have a couple of bounce spells in the sideboard.

Dress Down is sacrificed specifically at the beginning of the end step. Since the end step had already begun, the delayed trigger for Dress Down wouldn't activate until the next end step

I agree. The issue is we want to get started FAST and get right into the gameplay, and also that we have a lot of episodes "in the can" already so decisions about pacing would take a bit to take effect. Still, I totally hear this desire and am giving it a lot of thought for future episodes.

@@TolarianCommunityCollege You have phenomenal editing on par with the best mtg channels out there, so I feel that a small pop up at the bottom or side of the screen with something like where to find them (handles, usernames,) their MTG experience (years, awards/records,) and possibly even what they are _known for_ in the magic community (play, events, personality, etc...) would be sufficient enough. Plus, if people are interested to learn more, they could absolutely just search the person up for more info. Google is right there! I started watching these vids around the same time that I actually first heard of The Command Zone, and even though they do a quick intro with cuts to gameplay/media the persons are involved in, I feel that a casual scene like this could do with a simple slide on screen that shows the info. That's just my take, though. If you all with TCC have the ability to do so, you could absolutely do a lengthier informational intro, I definitely wouldn't mind! These vid's are most likely going to be more than half an hour long, anyways, so an extra minute or two of background knowledge wouldn't hurt.

Prof suggested no banlist Vintage. So you get to Doomsday T0 - turn up with a deck full of ante cards, remove them before the game starts (you're not playing for ante), draw your opening hand. Games would be extremely short, but probably hilarious.

Isn't no banlist legacy the same thing as no banlist vintage? Or is the restricted list different, meaning no banlist legacy is more broken than no banlist vintage? Regardless, the starting point for your deck is 4x black lotus... Proxies would probably be needed, but I could see this disaster being fun to watch once.

Doubly so when Lurrus never felt inherently “broken” in a Shadow deck, so I empathize with his heartache over the ban. Yes, I recognize Mama Cat should have been banned from even a homogenization standpoint, but my baby didn’t do much wrong in Shadow! In any event, look forward to checking out his stuff!

While an absolutely fun episode, unless I missed part of the explanation, the deaths shadow deck never had a chance. Nothing important in that deck besides faithless looting and gitaxian probe is banned. It'd never beat a deck that has had its entire premise banned. Amulet titan has lost key pieces, storm can be almost played exclusively with banned cards, splinter twin, hypergenesis, kci, and dredge all go insane. Any of these in an unbanned format crush shadow. No shade on the players, whole thing was very entertaining, and worth watching, but the moment the decks were announced there was no question of which would win, which to a point does damper the enthusiasm a bit.

Absolutely true, which is sad, because after the pay 3 errata to companion, I liked brewing with the mechanic, especially some jank pioneer builds. It makes me sad to know that because of Lurrus and Yorion, we will probably never see the mechanic again.

24:53 actually Prof Black Market is an enchantment for 5 that generates mana when creatures die. The card you are thinking about is Blackmail. And it was printed in 9th edition and is absolutely legal. Problem is the opponent only reveals 3 cards from their hand so if an opponent has more than 3 cards they just hide the one they want (in this case Dark Depths)
