The conversation about forgiveness is so important. I gotta say that the most moving, powerful acts of forgiveness that i saw (on tv) was when the family members of the victims of the Charleston Church shooting faced Dylan Roof, the man who had slain their loved ones in cold blood, they said to him that they forgave him. This wasn't years after the murders, this was right after, right when the tragic loss was raw and more painful than I could ever imagine. They were true Christians, this was so powerful, in the midst of such a profound tragedy.

@@AdzyLoCaL1 - He listens and lets the guests talk and gets the best out of them. He also understands the criminal mindset and knows where to lead the interview. In this interview, he immediately knew the fake murder with photographs would be a massive red flag and pushed him to admit it was a bad idea. Michael stuck with it asking him more but Jay doesn't tell the full story. He actually lies. I've seen the uncovered recording of what happened. He had a camera set up in his trailer. He showed them the photographs and bloody Mongol vest. He then left the room as he wanted to see what they said on tape with him gone. The two Hells Angels looked at each other and said "he's an undercover cop". He completely blew his cover and the investigation ended. He also doesn't say here that the case completely fell apart and no one was convicted of a crime. So the entire uncover operation achieved nothing.

Everybody wants to picture the HELLS ANGELES as a terrible MC club that does bad things, but nobody wants to remember all the good things that they do, and they do a lot. I've known the chapter where I'm from since the 70's and they saved my life from a stalker and when the people were tearing down statues around the USA, they took a stand in our community and stood watch 24/7 to make sure that didn't happen and it didn't. I am always a proud 81 supporter, and I can still go to that chapter today and I've been married to a judge for 30 years, and they still welcome me.

George Christie gave the most accurate explanation. The Hell's Angels is not a criminal organization, but does have criminals as members. Dobbins under cover work never resulted in any convictions. His only victory in court was when he used the ATF.

"Protecting" racist statues is the number 2 good thing you can think of? How does that even remotely justify the violence and bs they do?
@bullhornzz2 ай бұрын
I hear ya, I found out years ago a family member of mine way back was involved with a certain 3 letter organisation that is known for their extreme racism. When asked about that he said he and his people never gave any racist stuff, those guys were the ones, let's say you're a drunk, you're beating your wife, not feeding your kids etc, these guys are going to have a member or two have a talk with you, if you didn't take that to heart and straighten up, then they're going to show up to your farm one night, and you're going to go for a little ride with these guys off to one of their farms, and depending on what you've done, they're going to do something between scarring the heck out of you by showing you what they do to jackasses by letting you witness someone else getting a "tune-up" to you being the guy who gets the ever living shit beaten out of him while someone else gets to watch. They beat a guy who's been roughing his wife up, beat the absolute brakes off this guy, but didn't touch his hands cos he was a cotton farmer and they wanted him to be able to pick cotton, use tools etc, but they beat him, broke a few ribs, beat him with a big leather strap from head to toe, and told him under NO uncertain terms they better not ever see a single bruise or mark on his wife or any of his kids, he better hope to God nothing accidental ever happened to them because he would be delt with very harshly. They then sent him to another guys farm for a few days to recover so his wife and kids didn't see him like that. In the mean time the guys went to his farm daily to take care of things that need to be taken care of. The guys wives helped out and checked in the wife and kids, helped her get her place in order and kids helped. Apart they made a believer out of the guy and keeping a check on him straightened things out because there weren't any more problems. On the other hand he related a story where they'd had a "Friendly discussion" with a guy who was a problem and he didn't get the point and went home and roughed his wife up again and well.... That guy got tuned up "all the way" and that was that. It was a community self policing itself kind of thing, at least for them. Not a racist thing.

In Jay's book "No Angel" he admitted that outside of the murder of the women the crimes being committed by the Angels were mostly small time and petty. Frankly, the government wasted money on "Black Biscuit". The HA also dispute that Jay was made a full patch member informally. Sonny Barger angrily denied that claim by Dobbins in an interview. I believe only the chapter has to vote you in. It doesn't make sense for every Angel throughout the world to vote for a member since the vast majority would not know him like the local chapter.

@darknessandlife7774 ай бұрын
He was never patched in. His version of events is complete BS. The truth of the matter is Dobyns and a couple of CI's rolled up after buying their way into another club, who quickly figured out what was going on and tipped off the Hells Angel's. He was outed within the first month. Problem was a Chapter President told the brass he seen Dobyns and the other two using speed at his parties and vouched for them. Sonny Barger said "we'll see" and didn't believe him, so Jay and his sidekick Pops were moved from under the Mesa Chapter to a barely existing chapter in the middle of nowhere under two old heads who weren't involved in much. The idea was if he were a Fed he would quickly slink away. Instead "Jaybird" got too into the lifestyle, strung out on speed and blew tens of millions of dollars playing biker while falsifying evidence regularly. The event you're talking about where he claims he was patched in didn't go down that way. He showed up with the FedEx package and photos showing off and was confirmed as a Fed. Instead of it being the victory he likes to claim, it blew their already weak case to shreds.

The Vegas mob boss story is Classic!! I could picture every detail
@darknessandlife7774 ай бұрын
It's also a BS story. 1: The Hells Angels are huge in Las Vegas and the Las Vegas underworld and know who is who regarding the Las Vegas Mob. 2: By the time of this investigation the Las Vegas Mob had been nearly defunct for over a decade. By then they had a couple strip clubs they ran for the Chicago Outfit, which was common knowledge. Had this event happened the guys over Dobyns would have called the Las Vegas 81 chapter and ran the name by them. They then would have discovered this supposed Vegas "Mob Boss" didn't exist. 3: As someone connected to many of the people involved on the MC side, Jay Dobyns was pegged as a potential cop from the get go. One guy was vouching for him. HQ said "we'll see" and put him under q couple of old burnouts in the middle of nowhere.

He decided long ago to take "I was a prospect for the smallest Hells Angels chapter on the west coast for a year" as his entire identity in life and try to sell it. Unfortunately the truth, "Yeah, we hung out in each other's dilapidated mobile homes drinking cheap beer and smoking weed and meth for days on end" doesn't quite sell books and movie deals.

I know guys who were members of Angels during his "investigation" and they've said he lied in book as much as he does during interviews

Very enjoyable Interview. It’s not the contrast or „clash“ of both sides but more the great stories, insights in organizations and that makes it more of an exciting conversation rather than a usual interview you would see anywhere else. It’s just so fluent, thanks for letting us insights and organizing all this

Why would “God” have his hand on only on Jay Dobbins’s shoulder? So now he is suddenly a big believer in “God”? He betrayed his own family. To this day his own family hates him.

Fascinating stuff. Looking forward to part 2 👍 I can't imagine the mental stress he underwent. Let alone trying to be a family man at the same time. Much respect.

lol. yeah sure. jay ended up being a bad one too. sure he has the excuse of going the extra mile to not get made by the 81, but theres a reason the cases he made against the bikers didnt go anywhere. too much crooked shit. Idk whos the right man for those 3 letter agency heads but it aint whos there now and it aint jay Dobbins thats for sure

"You take the pizza and put it on the oven and it comes out like it came out of the oven". That's really good to know. I don't like when i put a pizza on the oven and it comes out like it had just came outta the dish washer. One time i put it in the oven and it came out and had went to a 21+ club and had gotten so drunk it couldn't even hold up its crust anymore. I'll be buying it when it's out.

Great interview, Michael. I'm 1:17:40 still not a fan of the ATF or any other government agencies. They constantly change the rules and sometimes create problems to look like their solving problems.

In any organized crime group murder is taking very seriously especially to not have any links to a murder to a unknown hang around or prospect with zero history to any members of the club. Would not happen unless they're very stupid. The testimony of arrested club members said hes full of crap and manufactured evidence against them

I really like Michael, Can't stand this guest, though! Total glory seeker. I would not have bought the bullshit for a millisecond. Were probably paying this clowns pension till the day he dies & beyond to his widow after. If I lit my own house on fire I'd be in jail. Can't wait to taste the frozen pie!
@sernoddicusthegallant69862 ай бұрын
I mean the testimony of patched in and loyal members are going to be just as biased and untrustworthy as that of an undercover atf agent.

@@Bee89301 Yeah, thanks Jay. Thank you for spending $40 million of us Arizona taxpayers money so you could go hang out in a mobile home village outside of Prescott for a year smoking meth all day on the taxpayers dime. So much service to our country. Must be why their little case went absolutely nowhere and the only conviction they got was a few guys pleading guilty to possession of personal use amounts of drugs.....
