If you ever need to do something like that again, forget the 45's. They rarely work out. When you get your countertop, order an extra piece of the laminate. Cut your countertop so it is flush with the area that drops off. Contact cement the laminate from the bottom to overlap and cover the end grain of the cut piece. Then cut the bottom counter and put it in place. You with get the perfect effect your are looking for. I did this many times when doing cabinet and doors.

Countertop looks great and the 45 degree mitered waterfall idea is nice, but you lose countertop space on the front cabinet equivalent to the thickness of the countertop. Instead, how about some sort of easy to clean backsplash/laminant on the waterfall? Maybe something that incorporates artwork representing "Navigation Nowhere", "Ivan", or something in that line? I'm excited for the next vid :-)

Hey Mike. Good to see you back working on your kitchen. I have a couple of questions. Have you ever seen a corrugated tin floor on a bus? When I pulled up the plywood, I was surprised to see this metal floor. I was going to use foam board for insulation, but the foam will actually be laying on the "hills" of the metal and I will have open "valleys". Is that a problem? Should I use the spray can foam and lay a bead in the valleys before laying the foam board? I have been asking these questions in a couple different places on social media, google, and I haven't gotten an answer. Maybe there's nothing to say about it. I would appreciate your help with this. Thanks and stay safe

Do they not sale the laminate top to where you can do the short angle with plywood and just add the laminate on top. That way you can do the precise angles the way you need to.

Unfortunate about that 45 angle :/ all works out though :)! Wanted to say I appreciate all the time effort into the videos. Just sourced some live edge black walnut for my counter 🥳 what tankless water heater are you going to go with? I personally need one that isn’t too bulky and would be considered “indoor” to be able to vent proper and not ya know 💀
